When we sing & play we just get on with it, If I went to do a song half a dozen times before I got it right, the Crowd would just walk away... This show looked brilliant.

James did go through an arrogant phase with early British TV success, way before he married. He then had to work hard to get back to the top, but it’s made him such a great guy, having gone through that experience that eventually grounded him. I cried when he giggled.......We miss you back home, James! xx

I couldn't agree more! Firstly I'm in the UK and half the shows don't play here. We only got wicked last year and it did one tour. Secondly I'm disabled so it's even harder for me to see a show. I love the theatre and wish I could go more.

What I absolutely love about all of the openings James has done, including this one is that you can feel his genuine want to do nothing more than celebrate an art form he loves and has so much appreciation for. He also always finds a way to showcase every show, so many nominees, and the other hard working performers in the industry. He makes it about so much more than himself and it couldn't be more refreshing. Also the way he tears up at the end: you KNOW it's such an overwhelming moment and it's such a genuine reaction.

Fena Reti yes it is. Bryan Cranston’s broadway show called Network closed the night before the Tony Awards. It’s about how a news reporter goes crazy because of the ongoing events. The famous line is “I’m mad as hell and I’m not gonna take it anymore” when Bryan says “I’m bloated as hell” because he has to go to the bathroom

Ive seen this 17 times now and it never loses its magic touch. im so glad they were ice enough to show this on KZfaq despite the fact the point of the song is 'this something you can only experience live'. I haven't seen any of the other Tony openings but im 100% sure this is the best one.

James reminds me constantly of why my previous relationships didn't work, I could never move in life with men that didn't love musicals. My energy was stuck and stagnant, no singing, no dancing, no outlet for all the pent up creative energy, other than writing the words that I wasn't able to express through song and dance. Thank you, James, for helping me to find my smile within and reminding me to never stop the show inside my heart.

Holy Shit the amount of time that must’ve gone into this from James to remember every word at the perfect time & all the choreography. And then seeing him hold back those tears at the end as he got a standing ovation. So respectable! James deserves all he has now - such a great, hard working man.

9.36, his face is the face of satisfaction, him flashing back on all the hard work and what he just made the crowd go crazy to. 9.51, the small little chuckle while admiring how many people have standed up and clapped and cheered for him, his accomplishment 9.58, him actually getting emotional but extremely happy and relieved of the art and music he just made and how many people he could have just inspired to become someone just like him 🥺🤞💕

"There is the audience. Here is the stage. Broadway's about what's in between." If there's any doubt about Corden's talent, the bits where he's dancing with the chorus line (See 4:19) confirm it. And speaking of the chorus line, the dancers, especially the six women are just amazing. But i suppose if you're putting together an opening number for the Tony's, you get your pick of the best professionals on Broadway.
