It's not what you know, It's who you know and more importantly who your parents are. They like to play it down and act like they're just like you and I so they seem relateable but nah, it's bull. Basically the only time a relatively poor person, from an unknown family, makes it big is when they're a puppet for one of the aforementioned. Think members of boybands or pop artists.

it depends on the level of OCD, in her case it might not be severe, she just wants things to be put in a certain order, plus even when someone has a severe OCD it's not necessarily a bad thing.

Hey! I have been diagnosed with OCD by multiple professionals. Just wanted to pop in to say that OCD is way way more than cleanliness in many, many cases. For example, in my case, I almost died and had to be hospitalized for nine days because I was convinced that if I ate any food or drank any water, my family and I would die horribly or that something horrible would happen in general. And the stereotype is even further detrimental to those who actually do have legitimate cleaning compulsions, as they are often cast aside and labeled as someone without OCD and is just joking.

I have OCD but not with cleanliness mine is counting numbers over and over again in my head at least 200 times a day in multiple of 3's, 5's or 9's. Mainly 9's, then I go over in my head hot cross buns the song and the placement of how to play it on a recorder and tap on surfaces doing that at least 100 times a day. I do this every single day most days I don't even realize I am doing it or have done it. It's not something I can stop doing I'm doing the hot cross buns in my head as I'm typing this out. I hate that people don't understand that OCD isn't just a disorder that is about cleanliness, it's obsessively doing something unconsciously with out thought or any way to stop it.

At no point in the actually video does she say she has OCD, she merely said she was a very tidy person. When James spilled the plate, she wasn't anxious, she just said she "couldn't understand why he'd have it like that." She doesn't sound very OCD, more Type A than anything. So since she didn't actually tell James Corden she has a disorder, I think it would be unfair to accuse James of purposefully taking advantage of said disorder. The only time OCD was mentioned was by whoever they pay to title their KZfaq videos, so if you're gonna get mad at anyone, may as well be that person

I actually have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and it isn't about things being organized/clean. Some people have to wash their hands until they're sore and bleeding, that's OCD. Some people like me have to tap things continuously to a certain rythym and one interruption means we have to start all over again to the point where we are crying and hyperventilating and still having to do it, that's OCD. There are many other forms of the disorder. It's a mental illness and shouldn't be joked about. Society doesn't accept 'pushing someone's schizophrenia' but they accept 'pushing someone's *claimed* OCD'. Oh and I hate it that it's seen as okay to use OCD as a personality trait or adjective. It's stupid. It's a mental illness and people should shut the fuck up about them being "So OCD over a straight line".

Bambi Kun Bambi Kun literally fucking thank you! I don't hate James Corden; we all make mistakes and are all learning. I'm not justifying what he did, I'm just saying we all screw up sometimes, and we can all easily learn from them with a bit of education from people with the disorder. 😊 It does, however, still frustrate me that this disorder is belittled. It's not called a "disorder" for nothing. I have OCD and the vid made me uncomfortable for two reasons 1) James threw around OCD in such a casual way like lots of people do. She never said she had this disorder (she just said she was neat) but who knows maybe she could and 2) if she does have this disorder, why would you fucking taunt someone who has a disorder!?!?! That's horrible! Well anyways, thanks for your comment! 😊

There is OCD the disease where you can not help it and there is OCPD the personality disorder people often mistake them, chances are Laura has the personality disorder where you can function in a normal way but you really like things to be tidy and perfect so before anybody says that James should not make a joke or bother her they should know if the disease is present or not and stop being so sensitive about every little thing

Even if she does have OCPD it should still not be mistaken and it doesn't subside the fact that it's a mockery to people with OCD. Furthermore OCPD is also a very serious condition, personality disorders are not any less in intensity because they're not an anxiety disorder and a part of a person's 'personality'. It's still a disorder that would actually need a longer term therapy than OCD because it's so engrained. People having commuted suicide because of this disorder. To me she seems like someone who has perfectionism as a personality trait and not a disorder. But we can't judge from the video. Either way, none of the disorders should be taken lightly and definitely not be made fun of. I think we can agree on that.

Zen Buddhism. sorry to disagree but the definition of personality traits is exactly that, less severe and without long term consequences it does not impair the day to day functioning, in fact you do not treat a personality trait for more info read DSM V

David Andrade you are correct. A personality trait is exactly that. Everyone has them. But a personality disorder is not a personality traita and there are specialised therapies for them. They are disorders, and a definition of a disorder means that is impacts the day to day life of the individual. Perhaps check DSM 5 again? Sorry to partly disagree.

She has OCD. Maybe not as severe as yours, but she definitely suffers from it. I bet she's woken up in the middle of the night just to clean up. Everything about her reactions remind me of myself. Most people miss the signals I send out, because, like her, I've learned to hide them really well. You're disregarding her suffering, because it's not as severe as yours. Shame on you for that. However, I do not have OCD (I dont think....) but I like/sometimes need to be very organized like her and a little bit like OCD. With all seriousness and respect, I would like to know if theres a term that I can use casually to explain to people my "habit/behavior/preference". I feel like it's on the same level as when I explain to people that I like to clean things and wash/clean my hands often because I dont want to get sick and everything we touch is full of bacteria/virus, but I am not technically/medically a germophobe.

At no point in the video does she say she has OCD, she only says she's a very tidy person. The title of the video is a bit misleading. And this is a talk show, everything is rehearsed. They contact the guests beforehand and make sure they're comfortable with everything they have planned, meaning she consented to having things messed up and put out of order on the table. I highly doubt James would trigger someone with ACTUAL, DIAGNOSED, OCD. It was all just to make her annoyed and frustrated, but because she wasn't anxious or completely freaking out over it, I don't believe she has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Ironically, the only thing you can do to help an OCD sufferer is to expose them to their anxiety triggers. But it should be in a good way, of course.

I once knew a kid with OCD. Couldn’t come to school for 6 months cos every time he left his home he would have panic attacks. Washed hands too much so that he ended up scraping away the skin. But sure you get a tinsy bit frustrated about the place of a mug and it’s ocd

i remember a local celebrity in my country where she would be a guest host in this live comedy show. The regular hosts usually throw their cards enthusiastically before commercial break and if she was on you could see her picking up the cards they threw as the camera pans out just before commercial starts
