James Last puts his own signature to the country classic, Orange Blossom Special. It's a favourite at all his concerts and the night would not be complete without it!

@@plunkervillerr1529 I agree with you, I think Billy Vaughn's 1961 arrangement and execution was better. I like Vaughn's inclusion of guitar solo's as opposed to Last's brass section even though I play the trumpet. And why the silly horse whinnies in a railroad song about a train that ran from NYC to Miami? Imitation of train whistle, you betcha. A horse whiny? Might as well include pig oinks to go with it.

James Last and his Orchestra was one of my father's favourite. Our DVD of one his concert got worn out because he would always watch it a year before my father passed. It is just today that I have a video of James Last because it would remind me of my father. Rest is peace and danke Hansi and my father.

I travelled from the UK to Zwickau in Germany some years ago to work on one of James's shows just like this. I had an absolutely fantastic time, and was amazed to see so many coaches from the UK filled with people who had come to Germany specifically to see James and his team in Concert. His sad passing was a great loss to the world of live entertainment. He was a true Gentleman of Music. R.I.P James.

Thanks Paul! I travelled to Cologne to see the last James Last concert ever. The live concerts were always great and I still miss them. We always enjoyed every moment. Even the sound checks when free wine was passed round to everyone there. I’ve never seen that happen anywhere else. James Last was a very generous guy and really looked after his fans.
