I can’t stop cringing about this time I met James. I lived in New Orleans at the time and my bestie had come to visit for Carnival (or to non New Orleanians: the weeks leading up to Mardi Gras). If you’ve never been, it’s literally a week and a half of non-stop partying. We took an afternoon off and watched 27 dresses (Katherine Heigel and James Mardsen). Flash forward 10 hours later. We’re at a bar on Frenchmen (just outside of the French Quarter, very very popular area in NOLa), and James is right next to us in the crowd. I shit you not, I was drunk enough to say: (read this in an annoying almost valley girl drunk voice; OMG I just watched 27 dresses (like seriously I literally had) and you look just like the main character! He looked right at me and said: “Hi , I’m James.” Oh boy did I feel like a jerk. Like, he either thought I was too daft to recognize him or he knew I knew and was calling me out. Either way, this moment haunts me. I mean, it’s insane that I had just watched (RE-watched) one of his movies. But what a dick (me)!
