@@TheTeaisDelicious that's is not what he is talking about dumbass! He is not talking about accent discrimination but the fact that Scotland is such a small country population wise (like many other small countries) that you are not guaranteed to get much work as an actor playing a Scot all the time. God, you are so Racist! Stop being so god damn ignorant and only seeing the world through your limited vision.

Best advice I can give when dealing with anyone struggling to understand your accent, just slow down. Most of the time it's the uncertainty of where words begin and end that cause folks to get lost.

Exactly.I tell the story of watching In Hell with Johnny Depp and Heather Graham and walking out because I couldn't understand the cockney dialect. But in fairness they were talking fast. If,as you said, they'd slowed the speeches I might have stayed. I have since seen the entire movie n loved it btw.

Sean Connery spent his whole life acting in a Scottish accent (which was silly). I'm Scottish, too, but I feel there needs to be more roles where you actually can be your own accent; be it in the UK or US and beyond.

There’s this Scottish actor Chris O’Dowd who does American movies with his real voice. He sounds Scottish to me I hope I’m not wrong. But anyway he’s always playing these characters in random places in the USA but his voice is Scottish. It doesn’t really make sense unless they made all his characters immigrants. I wonder if he can even do an American accent. Like why would a cop in Wisconsin be a Scottish immigrant lol it’s just weird to me. (Bridesmaids movie) In real life living here I find that immigrants from the UK move to New York or Los Angeles so his bridesmaids character didn’t seem realistic to me

One gets the understanding that the colloquial accent is "put on " more so for the Identity that it is natural . I have a "Friend " who is Scottish and when we get together I annoy him so much because I ask his wife what did he say . His day job accent is almost pure Queens English an a Uni Lecture ... A bit fake .
