Awe, the 90’s when gospel singers took vocal risks. Everyone didn’t sound the same. Good ole days.

Whew. This took me back. I was there that night, my mother is actually the one standing at the 5:25 mark with the pearls on. They were SANGING, I mean the whole building was laid OUT by the end of the night. James & Bryan was effortlessly SANGING the people under the pews. He was definitely influenced by the Clark Sisters but he was influenced by Lashun Pace too & it's prominent in his vocal delivery during this performance.

I know a lot of children can sing (a bit) but they should't be able to do THAT. To have an ear that processes these licks at that age is crazy, to be able to it yourself is way crazier, and to really make it sound that pretty!

Speaking of the Clark Sisters, Rev. James Moore grew up with them in Detroit, Michigan singing in the choir. He was a student of their mother Dr. Mattie Moss Clark.

Don’t know if you remember that You did a review of him singing with the Children’s Mississippi Mass choir. The young boy in this video is Bryan Andrew Wilson who is a grown man now. His vocals were crazy on this song for sure. I would love to hear him sing live now as a grown man. I’ve heard recordings since he’s been grown but not live,….🤔gonna have to see if he has any videos with him singing live now since he’s been grown.

Rev James Moore - one of the BEST male singers ever! Perfect belting, incredibly full, rich and easy! And Bryan is just a pure vocal prodigy.
@JaySmith-mz7vg2 жыл бұрын
The facts! Early James Moore was heavily influenced by Donny Hathaway,(which I loved) but I enjoyed listening to how he grew to find his distinctive style. James & Daryl Coley are truly goats. I like Bryan too & felt really bad for him for a few years. He had a really rough transition & harsh criticisms from some in the gospel community when his voice changed, but he was & still is an undeniable talent.

WOW I didn't know that you reacted to this song! Thanks. You reacted to him singing His Eye Is On The Sparrow with the Mississippi Children's Choir. He was unbelievably gifted and strong even then. He was a few years younger than he is in this song. I really enjoyed your reaction and your reflections on this particular video. He is so anointed I agree with everything you had to say. I do hear some of the Clark Sisters stylization. But, he has his own way of interpreting songs and using his voice. He has such maturity and control for his age. It's just unreal how much control he has over his voice and the maturity of his ear is just incredible. Thanks again. I have a request. I am hoping that you will react to Victory Brinker's audition on AGT where she received the golden buzzer. . She made AGT history and not because of her age. She was 9 when she auditioned. I thought of her because of watching this. You won't be disappointed. I'd really love to see and hear your reaction. She is incredible.

This is actually the first time I’ve watched this performance in its entirety rather than just seeing clips of it. I was missing out this whole time. Unbelievable! Now that you’ve seen a more comprehensive range video of Vanessa Amorosi (thank you so much), you should check out her performance of Aretha’s Natural Woman (she has several and they all slap but one of the best is where she’s wearing a black dress) and also her LIVE rendition if I Will Always Love You when she was just 14 years old. m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ga-Bf91q0cnanok.html It shows off her head voice more than what you saw in the range video.
