Dude, she is quickly ceasing to be under-rated. She is amazing. So many of the actors in this series are, and she is right up there with the very best.

I agree. She's great. I think Star Trek needs very strong actors to be itself.

I wanted a scene at the end as the camera pans out of the lounge to show La'an hesitantly observing Kirk in a longing way, wanting to join them but unable to do so.

It's so pretty! I've noticed it's a theme that's played at least 4 times in their interactions. It has a real old Hollywood romance movie feel to it.

Khan was a ruthless killer.. He would murder anybody that got in his way. I highly doubt he gave two shits about his daughter. As he never said anything about her. He had one goal in mind. To get revenge on Kirk. it was his undoing. As knowing something and being good at it are not the same..As it's easy to be a tyrant. It's hard to govern ones emotions. And had Kirk killed his ass the first time. He would have spared all those peoples lives. That died to capture him in both Time Lines...As he said in the second time line. Star Fleet wanted to exploit his ruthlessness and savagery. And why they left them in suspended animation is beyond me.. You do what you have too. To make sure they never murder again. You finish them off for good..

Yeah, it really makes me wonder how La'an would have reacted to the events of "Space Seed" and "The Wrath of Khan," assuming she lived past the SNW era into the TOS and TOS film eras. Also, whether or not Kirk connected the dots between La'an and Khan's familial relationship, and asked her about it afterwards. I can only imagine the shock that La'an would have experienced at learning that her ancestor not only survived the Eugenics Wars, but then tried to steal the ship she once served on, tried to kill a version of the man she fell in love with on multiple occasions, then indirectly caused the death of one of her former crewmates (Spock, when he sacrificed his life at the end of TWOK to repair the warp engines when Khan activated the Genesis Device). It would make for an interesting side story, if you ask me.

If they have a Kirk and Khan child…could become the future emperor of mankind jajaja

​@antidoteify it's played 4 times total I think. The hotel room, their kiss, when she contacted him on the padd and then here as well. I think it's meant to be their theme.

She was also in command yellow. For some reason I figured she was Kirk’s first officer.

@Fletchman1313 - Khan Noonien Singh was already well known to the Enterprise crew; they just didn't know that the person that they'd rescued was THE Khan Noonien Singh. It seems a bit silly that somebody named "Khan" who commands attention everywhere he goes could have remained anonymous, but that's how the episode was written. If I recall Space Seed correctly, the humans among the Command Staff - especially Scotty - had grudging respect for Khan Noonien Singh. He WAS a dictator, but he didn't commit any mass-murders; as ruthless dictators go, he was a cut above the usual Hitler / Stalin / Pol Pot types. Still, for the Enterprise officers to not recognize him was a bit ridiculous; he didn't have that generic-guy forgettability of a Rudolf Hess. Rather, he was always the most interesting guy in the room.

@@brachiator1 Nobody is perfect. And the strive to make ourselves better is as TREK as you can get. So any character has to start somewhere. He is not crippled by childhood trauma, it`s just something that shaped him, informs his character. Everyone carries a package as they say, even the ones who effectively ARE happy, balanced (!). It´s the human condition.

Kirk is a lion not a nice guy simp. He doesn't open up like this to strangers. Yet again another example of woke dry rot turning everything into their sad, pathetic lives.
