I was a big fan of The Practice and when I saw what Alan Shore (James Spader) was doing, I was like what the hell is this guy doing in terms of his ethics and scrupulous antics. Being the guy that I am and willingness to accept change, I allowed myself to be consumed with such a great character. James has taken this character of Alan Shore to heights that no one would have ever been able to see from the inception. It is a pleasure to watch each episode.

As terrific as he was as Alan Shore Raymond Reddington is SO much more complicated and has SO many facets. This man is brilliant every week in 8 years of portraying Reddington. He is robbed every year. Period. It’s a sin network shows and performers are totally ignored for streaming programs, and premium channels.

A great actor, equally sensitive in drama and comedy and one who possesses a wonderful sense of humor.

As much as I love Hugh Laurie, Alan Shore has got to be one of the most brilliant written (and obviously performed) male tv characters of the last decade. Too bad Boston Legal got axed after five seasons, but on he other hand: 5 years is probably a good periode to consider whether you ant to continue: a lot of shows get milked to death and I would have hated to see that happen to BL.

The Sopranos is my favorite show of all time. But I really think Spader deserved this Emmy. Gandolfini won enough, and rightfully so. For me, these two actors were one of the few actors who mostly acted in TV shows, but are/were so great they would also be great in movies and be Oscar material. So sad that we will never see Gandolfini's great acting again. Just hope we will see Spader more, and also more movies. This man could win an oscar.

Spader had two deserving wins but I don't know what is so special about 3. season of Boston Legal for which he won here. This was Hugh Laurie's Emmy in my opinion. And why was Kiefer Sutherland nominated for the worst season of 24 and not Michael C. Hall for probably the best of Dexter?

I'm agree with you, Michael C. Hall should have been nominated and win I don't know why wasn't nominated for drama series that year. If they think is better nominate Boston Legal over the first season of Dexter, they have no idea of how vote, sometimes. So James Gandolfini should have won instead or Hugh Laurie.
