He and William Shatner on “Boston Legal” were PURE MAGIC. Spader is acting genius; “Boston Legal” brought out all his talents. If you’ve never watched the show, you are truly missing out!

What I envy about actors of this grade is their capacity to learn so much material so quickly, and then deliver it so well. It's why I think he stood out so much on Boston Legal. They threw so many lines at him that he handled so well, that he turned into the attorney "everybody wanted." He was the "center" of that series in my opinion.

This guy will go on to be as one of the greatest actors to ever live. Everyone who works with this dude say he’s a master in his craft. I would love to see a movie in where him and Anthony Hopkins go toe to toe. Both have amazing delivery and make you believe they are THAT character they are representing.

I can't remember a part that Spader has played that I wasn't enthralled with. His part in Boston Legal with William Shatner definitely a standout. Truly one of the best actors of his generation.

Well thank gawd, he gave us Dr. Jackson in Stargate. I can't imagine anyone else in that role in the film. Michael Shanks did a great job on SG-1, but the film Dr. Jackson is incredibly endearing, unique and special and that's entirely because of Spader. Always a pleasure seeing him act in anything.

I always despised Charlie Rose (yes, even before his darker side came to light) but one thing his show did well was provide the time and atmosphere for good interviews, never rushing or interrupting. This answer by Spader is a great example. I have been a Spader fan as long as I can remember. I think he just keeps getting better.

It's not pocket change by any means (James Spader gets paid about $125K per episode of The Blacklist, and this is all he does at the moment), but i can't help feel that, compared to other, far less talented actors, Spader is underutilized and underpaid as an actor. Of course actors get paid based on what they negotiated in their contract, but the fact that someone like LL Cool J gets paid the same amount for NCIS, and he's not even the main star in that show, makes my stomach sick.

Although I think we probably all agree that Mr. Spader is deserving of much higher salaries for the roles he takes, I think it's part of his charm and charisma that he doesn't really seem to care too much about it! If he were some big -name -sellout, I don't think he would take near as interesting of roles, as what he does. Voted the "most eccentric" or"strangest man on television", seems to make him the happiest, and I for one, am glad!

James Spader's best role is himself. The Blacklist is an amazing series, though. It's like the point is to break every single moral and ethical rule, but in the context of overwhelmingly justifiable circumstances. Pure nihilism. Definitely great writing and acting.The production values are top notch on par with any motion picture.
