Red is back for round four. Returning to his role as the sharp Raymond Reddington, James Spader will visit BUILD to discuss the NBC hit “The Blacklist.” As the fourth person on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, Spader’s character is full of clever one-liners that often get him in trouble. Last season many of the characters experienced changes, so lets see if Spader will give away any hints at what’s to come in the season premiere on September 22. Interview at AOL HQ in NYC for BUILD Series.

I am not sure exactly why I am so fascinated with this guy. He seems like a completely different person in almost everything I have seen him in. Good guy, bad guy, young, older, thin, heavy, comedy, drama, fantastic hair or completely bald… I can’t seem to take my eyes off of him! Plus, I love his voice. It was so nice to get a glimpse of the man behind all those characters. Thank you!

Take this to the bank Mr Spader, you're a normal guy: funny, a bit odd, a gentleman, thoughtful and you're not that much into banter with interviewers! It's great. You control the timing of the answers, no-one pushes you to answer a question with some 'cool' response. You enjoy eccentricity but you don't seek fame. Christ, I wish most 'stars' would be like you.

I have the same fascination with the more honest professionals, those with unrealistic wealth seem to distance themselves from character's portrayed this doesn't allow realistic understanding or convincing characters. I am a huge sherlock fan starting with the ITV (UK company) version starring Jeremy Brett. Cerebral intelligence portrayed well is by far the most fascinating aspect of any character

Admittedly, I was never a James Spader fan during his younger years. However, his older roles have completely changed my mind. I was even impressed with his voice acting skills in Transformers as the voice of Ultron. He has definitely matured over the years, and his voice..... wow, I perceive his voice as a "white version" of James Earl Jones' voice distinction. I would love for him to do more voice acting!

OMG... like I'm listening myself! 😲😲😲 I never noticed James when he was younger and like a lot people say, hotter and good looking! Now, in his current age... that's a guy who could blow me away! And he did! He blowed my mind away! I started to read about him only few years ago and with each story about him I was even more tangled in his world! With all his OCD, all the issues and his daily routine... he is so imaginitive and creative! So humble and kind, but still very self aware!

I love Spader, and I think I love him better older than younger. If you have not seen him in Lincoln, do so. At first, I didn't even recognize him, but I thought he was the best thing in that film, a brilliant, comic performance that stood out in a film that often made you somewhat drowsy. Spader is really the only reason I watch Blacklist.

I've come to like James Spader as a person and actor, and it's interesting how nervous he is here. He say's "You Know....." a lot - which is a common nervous speech habit. I used to have such a negative opinion of him, but it was his depth as an actor that caused any dislike, as he played villains so often. When you separate the man from the actor - he seems a humble and down-to-earth chap. His portrayal of Red is sublime. He deserves a better co-star than the rather wooden actor who plays Liz.

I think he's a great actor that gives his 100% and really gets into his acting part which makes it more interesting in watching him act and more real. Either way he's good I just think he might have an issue and that's why he pauses so much in interviews, or could never simply how he copes with anxiety or being on TV , but either he's great as I mentioned and I don't mind as I can relate .

Luv Spader.. He seems a bit strange. Not sure if he is on something. He looks detached or awkward at times. His thoughts on typecasting were interesting. He claims to act only when he needs the money. However he cares deeply about the scripts of the show. He protests too much. He sounds very intelligent and thoughtful. I like the interviewer let Spader speak and did not interrupt with inane questions. Once Spader started talking he would not stop. Good interview. Kudos to the people in the audience who did not waste everyone's time with silly stupid questions.

Personally, as a big time Spader fan of have to agree with you. He’s rather odd and seems to do better in interviews where the host is well known or in settings where he seems more familiar in. Otherwise, there’s a certain uncomfortable amount of time between his words where the audience can perceive that palpable discomfort the actor is feeling. Very possible he suffers from some mild form of social anxiety disorder. Yes, I do agree, he sometimes exhibits displaced thought patterns and I’m not so sure it correlates to any social discomfort he might feel. Other than the possibility that he’s censuring his thoughts before they become words in his mouth, which would make a little sense for an OCD personality . Again though, people with OCD exhibit tediously repetitive behaviors that they can’t help. He might be a little anal and maybe even a perfectionist but a true OCD sufferer is ritualistic to a grueling crescendo of exentricities. Interviews would know. Colleagues would know and the entire world would also know by now if this was the case

The question James forgot to address was if he played characters who were smarter than the others - the ones with the "edge". The answer I believe is "Yes". He is perhaps too humble to realize how smart he really is. James sees humour in what he does ... a serious comedian, comfortable with discrepancies- laughing at and as the cosmic joke.

I just love James Spader. I first saw him on The Black List and then on The Office. And it ended there. I was totally unaware of his previous projects since (what?!) the 80's until some time ago. I just think he's like wine. His sexiness is something never left him, I gotta say. He has that bad boy aura and at the same time this very special and unique body expression that man... James Spader could totally be better put to use in Hollywood for some deep dark and disturbed characters. This is something not many actors fit into. He's just the kind of actor who plays the villain you love to hate and hate to love. And this interview... really, his raw honesty is fascinating and very admirable. ❤ I'm really fascinated with him, basically because of him. Not any character he ever played specifically. Him.

hamonahamonaha to some extent I think he deludes himself. He gives 110% of himself when he is working so this indicates a person who is very dedicated to his craft. On a recent Charlie Rose interview he indicated that along with working for the money there was more to why he keeps working...there is something else. It appears he loves to create characters and perform them, so he keeps doing the work.

Also ... imho ... For James Spader and others with intense curiosity LIFE is very full ... I was going to add 'intelligence' ... then thought of this ... "I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious." - Albert Einstein

Thank you you are loved and appreciated and so intriguing truly I've enjoyed your work and I've enjoyed your conversational interviews your eloquence and vulnerability seems you follow your bliss with great sensitivity and intelligence thank you for sharing part of yourself with the world I'm not familiar with most of your work I only know you from The Blacklist and the lawyer show I don't really do movies and television just occasionally something you catch my eye such as The Blacklist and your connection to JFK jr. God bless you both
