Newey was recovering from a bike accident when the Rb18 was developed. Ferrari has a decent car development. They both seem in the right place. Since those teams are close with Newey, i don't think they would be salty. Mercedes on the other hand, is still figuring their car out. They have the most reason to be salty if Newey went to a customer team and out develops them😉

RB wouldn't be salty, they AGREED to let him remove the gardening leave from his contract, they're happy for him to go to another team. Probably because they know he's not as important as everyone thinks he is.

@@lewismitchell3751 , Mclaren and Aston Martin are currently better and pretty close. That's why i didn't name them. But Williams out-developing them would be an absolutely embarrassment. Especially when you look at the difference in finances.

We all know Kimi is helping Mercedes in the sims. He already knows much about the car LH and GR is driving now. The testing on track is to prove that he is consistent with the simulator. Which already means it is, since he’s been doing these test sessions.

@@derek10w real. if albon is crashing and costing 2 mil in damages in only 5 races something is wrong, now logan is slow not as bad as i expected as hes close to albon in actual race pace but him not costing Williams so much money is a huge jump as sad as it is to say. id love to see him continue to grow and compete but its unlikely considering there are other driver with more experience in the wings he was just pulled up way to early.

@@striaid Every championship position is worth like 10 million. Albon is the only guy who's going to move williams up the board, so him crashing and costing them a few million isn't so bad, he single-handedly earned them tens of millions last year. Logan didn't do anything.

Maybe if they will replace Sargeant if not in Imola, it will be in Monza, because he will be 18 by that time, but that wouldn't make sense on why did they send a request to FIA for Antonelli

I honestly think that Antonelli will be in after the summer break (maybe before) and if he does amazingly, he’ll go to Merc next season, and if he does well, he’ll stay at Williams in a 1+1 deal

If Newey doesn't want to retire, philosophically I can feel Newey wanting to finish up with Williams more than Ferrari. Think about it. There is making Ferrari great again but they have a legacy of always punching up in the standings and falling just short. Sure they have Hamilton and he's never won a constructors with Hamilton or a Ferrari engine. Compare that to Williams who haven't won a championship in almost 30 years, a win in about 12 years(Maldonado was the last) and a podium in I think 6-7 years with Stroll. I think the legacy of setting Williams straight with Vowles as a challenge that might not pay off for years but will raise them up is a grander one for Newey.

Oh thank god. The boy is too young. As an italian my opinion is that we cannot waste Kimi Antonelli. He is the next generational italian talent. He is to become our flagship into the sport. We must not allow the Circus to waste him like this. He has to come at the right time, in the right conditions. 2026. New regulations for everyone. A new possibility for Mercedes to gain some ground back. Forcing him now, when he just got to F2 could alter his path and in any way that cannot happen. F1 is tough business. Many young and promising drivers who were rushed into a bacmarker team were quickly disposed of due to the poor performance. We have to be patient. This is not the time yet. One day i know that i will see him on that first step of the podium. But this is not that day yet.

Williams destroyed Logan's confidence and spirit. How do you come back from that. The biggest disappointment was that Alex wasn't man enough to do what was right. Logan earned his spot in that race, whether he came in first or last. It's on them.

They have already paid him by giving him a second chance which is more than he deserves. He should be nowhere near f1. He should be happy if williams even lets him in the garage, because many more talented drivers dont have that privilege.

@@askeladden450 I partially agree with you - he really sucks .. But I would never fire drivers midseason, it is just so depressing for the one in question. You're not giving someone a real chance, just half a chance. This guy is trying his best, he just can't get over the hump. The margins are slimer than you think - not even Albon can fight with this car so far.

Is Kimi Antonelli under consideration for you guys? proceeds to bring up rumor about Imola knock it off Vowles Notice he never mentions Logan by name he mentions 3 names Newey, Antonelli and Albon . The writing is on the wall Logan confidence was already sketchy putting him in a damaged car was all she wrote. I believe my sources I believe the rumors I've heard Antonelli is an option to replace Logan after the summer break. Vowles makes a valid point on a driver needing to be ready for the new regs what better way to break a new driver in than Mid Season RB is the notorious leader of such driver change. As for Newey yes selfishly I want him at Ferrari, privately a Williams reunion would be awesome to restore the embarrassment they've become.

If the Newey stuff miraculously lands then you bet Sainz will come knocking, knowing the 2026 car might be a beast. JV applied most likely to make Toto happy and probably gave him the ole "ok i'll apply but don't expect anything from it." Antonelli is probably somewhere around 5th or 6th on JV's pecking order. Being a Merc feeder isn't tempting for someone claiming to bring Williams "back to the top" .. I'd say if Logan keeps it clean and out qualifies Albon a few more times it's his seat to lose. It's safer to keep your variables to a minimum when making drastic changes to the entire organization. A rookie is throwing a wrench into the mix. A seasoned vet like Bottas could challenge Logan's seat though, that's a safe replacement for potential immediate results while shuffling through your junior driver program for the next potential driver.
