my daughter played this song for me when my husband was dying of cancer. Our meaning was she would always would be there for me...

This has been my favorite song and music video for the longest time. I love how the lyrics say I won't let you go and in the video, we see that. the girl is disoriented, she is hardly looking his direction , her mind is somewhere else, she is hurting and when she lies down. I imagine people around her are her loved ones and friends. Her parents etc. they are looking down at her, worried. Instead of coming to pick her up and try to dust her off, he comes and lies beside her NOT letting her go but instead allowing her to feel whatever it is she is feeling. I love that this inturn causes her close ones to do the same. Sometimes you need to let the people you love go through and feel what they are feeling and all you need to do for them is offer your love and support ... your hand for them to hold. What a beautiful representation of an already perfect song!

As I was alone, dying of COVID, I could faintly hear this song in the hospital coming from someone's radio. I have 12 sisters, 10 brothers-in-law, one set of twin sons, and a set of twin grandsons. This was our first dance song on our wedding day, 11 years ago today. We meet through a Councillor who set us up 13 years ago. This song means so much to us and provides us with so much comfort. James is an incredible underrated musician and I love everything he has done. I was lucky enough to see him perform in Northampton a few years ago in his hometown. I'm sure i bumped into him busking in Kingsthorpe outside Northampton when I was a student in the early 00's. His voice is so distinctive, just a class act. I lost my Son, he was 31 but passed just before 32. James's songs ring out. James apparantly was born very prematurely. I too had another Son born 29 weeks. Was hard and a long road. He is healthy 6ft and talented. Unfortunately I don't have any contact with him although I've tried it breaks my heart but listening to James's songs helps x
