I believe a video on "How to profit from the present market" will be more effective because, given the way the market is moving, we'll likely retain our investments for longer than 2030 before making a profit. After all, I've heard of people who have made up to $250K in a matter of months and I'd like to know how.

I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or when ever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

I agree! That's why it is advisable that you have to invest while you still have a regular job or earning a regular income, and do it constantly. You still need to have something that will keep you going even if you're investing. Good financial planning and money allocation is the key. For a successful long-term strategy you have to seek guidance from a financial advisor.

I completely agree; I am 60 years old, recently retired, and have approximately $1,250,000 in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. To be honest, having a portfolio-advisor for investing is genius!

The name of my investment advisor is "Sharon Louise Count." She is a true genius when it comes to diversified portfolios, which make portfolios less susceptible to market downturns, and has a strong reputation in her area. If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you, prevent inflation from eroding your savings, build generational wealth, and cultivate good habits and financial knowledge, you must be in the market.

Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Impressive video. I started a bit late (graduated from my doctorate program at age 30 in 2016 with 170k in school loan debt). Managed to pay off my debt by 2019 and currently have a house and 250k total in investments (combo of profit share, 401k and a brokerage account). I'm not very knowledgeable in investing, so I just have my investing currently in index funds mainly voo, but have been putting a lot into schd the past few months. I dunno if that's the optimal strategy, but psychologically it is very set it and forget it, and prevents me from obsessing over individual stock performance.

@@stellaadams593 Instead of using different brokerage accounts to purchase index funds or individual stock, compare your age(s) and how much time you have estimated till retirement, you can also opt to consulting/working with a fund manager/advisor for an “optimal strategy” to outperform the bear market...

I find it fascinating how crypto prices can fluctuate so drastically in such a short amount of time. It's a testament to the volatility of the market and the unpredictable of investor sentiment. However, i believe that these fluctuation are simple part of the journey towards mainstream adoption and eventual stabilization. Despite the risk, i remain bullish on the potential of crypto currencies to disrupt traditional finance and usher in a new era of decentralized transactions. Recent volatility makes it impossible to predict bullish or bearish trends. And trading success depends on the pattern and signal source.

These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I have about $109k now to put in the market.

true, A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for license advisors and came across someone of due diligence, helped a lot to grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to approx. $850k so far.

Thanks, James. These videos are great! I learned much in many ways. One question about TOS: how did you setup multiple time-frame charts (same stock, 1-2-5-15-1hr timeframes) in one window? It looks like one window with just one header bar. I have multiple individual charts that I have to link, so that they all show the same symbol.

I'm also a West Coast trader. Nice to see you get started at 4:30 AM. I settled on 5 AM wake up time because that seems to be when lots of news first starts hitting. (Then more at 5:15 AM and another round at 5:30 AM). I simply can not physically get up near market open and be a functional person, especially w a family. 9 pm - 5 am is my 8 hours of rest. All those screens seem like overkill to me, but I wouldn't mind having at least one big screen and a really solid computer👍

Buy low sell high. Stick with a good company by either not selling when it’s going lower and/or buying more at that time. Almost always the good well managed companies will come back strong at some point. The other is to get yourself a financial-advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on.

Well, I recommend you make a diversification plan because it's been harder to build a good financial portfolio since COVID. My colleague suggested I hire an advisor. I did and I've actually made over $926K with my advisor's help during this market crash. She uses defensive strategies to protect my portfolio and make profits despite the ups and downs.

@georgeh Sure. There are a lot of independent advisors you might look into. But I only work with HEATHER LEE LARIONI and we have been working together for nearly four years. She has since provided entry and exit points on the securities I concentrate on. She's well-grounded and known, shouldn't be a hassle finding her page.

Hats off to you JRY, I wouldn't be able to trade like that.. Scanning and whittling down a list to find opportunities for the particular strategy is a tonne of work. Watching Gold Oil Copper and Euro futures on 5 an 15min charts is plenty for me and I still miss things sometimes. I admire the effort you put into your routine though, much respect ✊

Is there a trading platform I can use to buy and sell in one order? For example, currently, if I want to buy and sell quickly, I have to go through each command separately and it takes time. Often times, by the time I click on "sell" and input my price, the profits are already gone. Appreciate sharing this. Its alot of work for sure. I focus on mainly 1-2 items to trade. I cant imagine how difficult scanning that many stocks would be. Ever thought about scaling down the amount of things you look at. i dont know how you manage to find and follow a setup when your list has like 30 or more. would be difficult to jump in the best ones of the day when there is that many. Thats just for me at least. Keep up the great routine and dicipline.

Hey James, nice setup there. I switched from scalping equities for a few years to futures almost the last two years now. I'll never go back to equities...Have you ever traded futures at all? Keeps it simple, no populating watchlists, no hopping from stock to stock, all I trade now is either Nasdaq or S&P contracts. Leverage is very high, initial margins are low and day trade rates are even lower. And given the time I can scalp Sunday nights when they open up if I want. Great video.

Suggestion from another west coast trader: 1. Wait to scan for gaps until after 5am, that's when a lot of gap runs start to happen. I wait until 6 to compile my gap list. 2. After sleeping and being immobile for many hours go for a 20 minute walk in the morning before starting your work day. That little bit of exercise and fresh air is great for the body and mind. And helps break up the time spent immobile (sleep time plus trading time is a long stretch of inactivity.) I boot my system then go for a walk.

Great to see your setup and routine! Impressive! Just to make it clear to anyone who may be starting out on their trading journey, I got profitable back in the day on a crappy desk and laptop with two average pc monitor screens so while the routine is super important (disciplined routine) you dont need a mega dollar setup to become profitable. note/ I trade currencies and indices, but the principles remain identical.

instead of looking multiple time frame charts, Follow one single time frame charts. Like in India I follow only Daily/weekly charts to check what's the mega trend and after that trade in 5 minutes charts only. Daily and weekly charts analysis can be done after markets are over.
