I really cannot be arsed to feel bad for the kardashians being caught in an unflattering lighting situation. They’re the ones who try and sell an unachievable idea of perfection 🤷‍♀️ if that comes to bite one of them in an imperfect moment, they have no one to blame but themselves.

The sad thing about the gym goes who edit their photos is that it's also fairly common for bodybuilders to have body dysmorphia. So they don't think they're as muscular as they are - I figure that probably contributes to the editing. It's a shame. 😔

As someone who suffered with body dysmorphia these videos help so much. Yes I always knew advertisements and celebrity/influencer posts are always edited/have filters but visually seeing someone point it out and hearing them basically say this is all BS just hits different. A year ago I could only leave the house if I was having a really good skin day and feeling slim enough. Ive been working with Photoshop since 2004, and i can say with almost 100% certainty that both of those lashes are fake. The one that looks realer? I can see the slight transparency of the stamp they used. But i figure they made it look realer by drawing in lashes too. The other one is an obvious fake but the second one has a little better looking placement, but its still fake.

I studied Nutrition (and Food Science) in college. Avocado is technically a “Vegetable-Fruit”. Yes, that’s it’s own unique category that includes cucumber, eggplant and tomatoes as well as avocado among a few other unique food items.
@tiffy3260
@tiffy3260 Жыл бұрын
I was told anything with seeds is a fruit. Is this true? And what makes a vegetable? Haha just curious
@ThatCho
@ThatCho Жыл бұрын
@@tiffy3260 that's actually true in the purely scientific sense of the classification. Fruits are produced from flowers and are the ripened ovaries/seeds of plants. However, common usage tells us not to categorize legumes, nuts peas etc as fruits despite the science right? Because they're not fleshy & sweet. The same is said regarding "vegetable-fruits". Basically, it's culturally impractical to call a cucumber a fruit. From 13th Edition Introductory Foods by Marion Bennion & Barbara Scheule: "Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squash and several vegetables are classified as vegetable-fruits. Although typically served as vegetables, these vegetable-fruits are botanically classified as fruits because each one develops from a flower. People often do not think of these vegetables as fruits because they do not taste sweet and are generally prepared with in combination with other vegetables."

To Il Makiage - yes that definitely is a filter! And that is really sad because their foundation is the best I've ever had. It is expensive and you really have to invest since you cannot try it first. But because I have an olive undertone most of the best makeup companies will not have any foundation that fits my skin tone (I'm of European and Polynesian descent) . Only YSL and Dior could provide and I've testet these 3 next to each other. Their product fits the promise which is why this video is actually harming their own product... Someone needs to tell them :P

If you're selling a product like foundation and do those things in ads, it leads me to believe you don't trust your own products and you know it's shite but you sell it to people anyway.

Disposable cotton pads to me feel more hygienic for things like makeup removal or applying a toner. Plus, those makeup erasers things are made out of plastic materials, which could take hundreds of years to degrade while cotton is at least a natural material that will probably take a year at most to degrade. I'd also like to mention, they have done studies and it turns out those single use plastic bags at the grocery store are actually better for the environment than the reusable cotton bags or even the brown bags once you factor in everything that goes into making them.

Avocado IS a fruit! You got it right. Loads of produce aren’t classified correctly in day to day use/reference, but as what we assume from unscientific observation that frequently isn’t an actual defining characteristic for the cataloguing of what it actually is. Such as size…😅. Or whether something is sweet or not. Lots of fruit is not sweet and mostly used in savory dishes, like the avocado, and vegetables can be sweet and turn up in desserts. Bananas are a great example ofmid classification, growing on a very large shrubbery that is technically an herb, not a tree or bush… …Though we falsely wind up calling the banana a fruit from a tree, they are the berries of an extra large/tall shrub that is not a tree or bush because it has no woody trunk or branches, just green stalk and leaves like a tomato (also a fruit.) Similarly, because it’s big, taller than people, and each berry is large, holding a single one from its bunch in our hand… (a raspberry is also actually a bunch of tiny fruits, each fleshy tiny globe with a single seed in it is technically one fruit and the entire bunch of individual fruits arranged in its slightly conical globe of maybe 30-50 tiny individual fruits, each with its single little seed, is what we typically refer to as the single raspberry…But each one is popping an entire bunch of like 30 fruits in our mouth! The banana 🍌 the opposite side of where size confuses classification.) …we wrongly call the berries fruits. So many interesting variations on these produce classification confusions.

I'd genuinely love a review on ilmakiage and I think there's another recently that claims to do an online shade match. There are still plenty of people uncomfy with the idea of going to test and find makeup so getting a good match online would be amazing. Once you start working out and continuously going to the gym and your seeing changes a lot of people tend get body dis morphia never thinking their body is good enough or up to their expectations sometimes people will go on some crazy cuts to drop excess fat or insane 3 hour in the gym 7 days a week stressing out every muscle in the body. But they don’t tell you that when you start

That last makeup one looks way too good to be real every time I see it. Not shocked.

Il Makiage’s foundation is great! It really works for me. The tone perfectly matched and I can barely feel the foundation on my skin. Their commercial may suck, but it is a really good product

Can you please buy and review the foundation you spoke about in the video! I get their adverts all the time and wonder how it actually preforms

That would be a question for his twin brother Robert. I believe he did a video where he reviewed Il Makiage. James doesn't do makeup.

LOL, I threw away a full size concealer from Il Makiage (Sick Magic) yesterday. If you took their quiz they would send you a full size concealer for $4. I'm Eurasian, so my skin tone is a tan/bronze color. What they sent me was for a pale Caucasian. Not even close. I looked so insane.

I use Il Makiage and it actually works great. It's one of the better foundations out there. Of course, it's important to first wash, moisturize, and apply a blur cream on first and let them all sufficiently set. It's probably similar to any other brand, but you don't get those results just applying it straight onto your skin without proper prep work first.

Clearly, I work too much. When I zoom in on the model‘s eyes, I see a crime scene! Again!

Bit late- but I thought I'd let you know that the organization that deals with false advertising in the US is the FTC-the Federal Trade Commission. Not that they are really great, and there are a lot of ways in which companies can get around the laws- or just have laws that Congress wrote to cover the companies that lobby them, so, it works for some things and not for others. Think the supplement industry-they get around both false advertising and having to be more regulated through a combination of various laws and just saying on their products that these products have not been studied by the FDA (the Food and Drug Administration which tests if some drug actually works, and if it might be toxic or kill you.)
