This shows how important it is to "gentle" animals at an early stage in life. When things like this have to be done it makes things a lot easier for everyone and animals involved. ❤️ Great job y'all!

I think at one point, (when she spit at the camera) Annie was ticked off at all of us for laughing at her antics! I love that Jami has no fear and preservers during tough times. Like this one, leaving Annie looking lovely in the end, bow and all!! 😍

Annie was the bigger challenge, but the results speak for themselves. Annie and Jami won easily. The bow was a great touch. Plus , Jami looked better doing it lol.

You may want to think about a mild sedation for Annie next year. She was extremely stressed out and panicked.

Oh my goodness, those noises that Annie was making! She was really anxious and wound up. And Lester gets the one who will lie down and be sheared! Jami did an admirable job of getting a smooth cut despite Annie's resistance. Love Lester's plan to have a rubric that always allows for some success! Great strategy.

I know I am late on watching the video, I have been watching you guys for about a year but I recently decided to watch from the beginning to current. I have raised and sheered sheep my whole life and from what I can tell Ernies wool is a lot like sheep. We learned if you wash and dry the animal before sheering you do not go through as many blades, it doesn't pull on the wool and it gets all the dirt off from the year and just makes it so much quicker. I know how they like to take their turns in the water so maybe a bath before sheering they will be calmer and it will be overall easier for you.

This shows exactly why having a relationship with the animals from birth is so important!!

Every time I see a video where Jami is in a difficult situation, I like her even more than before. She’s such a patient, loving, good woman.

Jami certainly did a much cleaner and smooth finishing. I an sure Lester achieved the objected and Ernie will be much cooler in the Texas’s heat. I thought the entire episode was fun to watch.💕💕💕😌🇺🇸

A blindfold would help greatly reduce the stress on those babies, especially on poor Annie, she's scared and stressed out and should probably be given a mild sedative for her safety and everyone else's.

Omg I giggled at how much Annie complained! 😂 She really did yell and scream about being shorn! Please Lester, go back and Re do Ernie's cut though😆 I fear it's not complete enough to provide him the best relief from the upcoming heat 💜 He was such a good sport though, extra snacks and water play for Ernie 👏

The first two item on the test go to lester but the last two are deffently for jamie. This also shows that if you do get a baby alpacka that it's extremely important to love on that baby from day one. Maybe paw paw will come spend time with it to make sure it's tame.

Wow that was some adventure. Annie at the end: "I look so pretty with this bow....imma just lay down here and take a load off." Great job to all involved. Jami you are a trooper.

Love you guys. Great competition, was fun to watch. The most important aspect though - as you said - is hair removal for the comfort of the babies through the warmer seasons - as much entertainment as it was to watch I sure hope you can remove more hair from Ernie. More entertaining than a barrel of monkeys. I laughed so hard that I give both teams 100 for effort. It’s hard having animals. I could tell u stories of my days as a farm girl all that went on. Sometimes it was sad and other times it was joyful. Love u guys for your grit and determination to get job done. I bet those young men will think twice before volunteering on future projects. 🥰🤠

Suggestion for Annie: a blindfold. She's a crack sputter because she can see. She will probably be calmer if she can't. Check with vet or an Alpaca farmer.

Lester and Jami, I am glad you guys had fun doing this. Next year look up Shearing Day on Mill Gap Farms on KZfaq. You have stall mats and can make this much easier on you guys and your animals. So check them out and give yourselves and the critters a break. Lester I think Jami's job was much better. I think you might need some spit guards next year.

Oh wow, this is quite a chore. Everyone did a great job, but the win goes to Jami! A suggestion would be to work with Annie and Ernie a few works before you want to shear. It looks like they need more handling because they were so scared and stressed out, especially Annie. Just like horses who have a fear of the farrier, you would work with picking up the feet weeks before the time to trim. Annie needs a calming aid lol.

I think y'all need two things... Face shields and some anxiety meds from the vet for the poor Alpacas. I know they make CBD for dogs so maybe the vet can recommend something for Ernie and Annie? Annie needs a chill pill. Great job, but man that's some work!
