In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, billionaire CEO of JP Morgan, Jamie Dimon shared his thoughts on the economy, stock market, interest rates, inflation, and the potential for an economic hard landing. Billionaire Jamie Dimon is warning that some serious storm clouds are forming in the US economy. If you're looking to safeguard your financial future, understanding what Dimon sees could mean the difference between staying afloat or sinking. There is a narrative forming in the Media and elsewhere that America has officially pulled off the elusive so-called economic “soft landing”. Successfully raising interest rates to tame inflation without plunging the economy into a deep, dark recession. But not so fast, says Jamie Dimon. Dimon’s seat as CEO of JP Morgan Chase, the largest bank in the United States, gives him a truly unparalleled look into the economy. And unfortunately, Dimon is worried about what he is seeing.
On many major metrics, the US Economy is incredibly strong. Gross Domestic Product, or GDP for short, is a measure of the size and health of the economy. As you can see here, GDP continues to grow at a healthy and steady rate. Additionally, the unemployment rate is just 3.9%, well below the long term average of closer to 6%. Household wealth is at an all time high as the stock market and home values continue to soar. All of these numbers would seemingly point to a strong and vibrant economy. However, if you ask average, everyday Americans, most of them would tell quite a different story. As shown in this chart, US consumer confidence is hovering around its lowest levels in over a decade. What the economic data is showing and how many US consumers are feeling doesn't seem to match up.

The current market/economy is unnecessarily tougher for boomers/senior citizens, I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.

The economy is very strong, even though home foreclosure is at recrod high level. Car repossesion also hit new high. So is credit card debt. Large corporations are laying off massively. Start-ups are going out of business. Stores are shutting down. Homeless encampments are spreading in major cities. As long as you are willing ignore all the negative signs, you will see the economy is good.

I foresee a recession lasting 2-3 years, and if inflation continues to Surge, the Federal Reserve will likely raise interest rates soon. Inflation is causing various issues worldwide, such as food shortages, scarcity of diesel and heating fuel and significant spikes in housing prices leading to a potential financial market crash. This global downturn could have long-lasting repercussions. Given the current inflation rate of approximately 9%, my main worry is how to optimize my savings and retirement fund which has remained stagnant at around $300k yielding almost no gains for quite some time.

Of course he says the economy is strong. Saying the opposite would only accelerate the recession. Besides, inflation melts away the government debt. If you have a 5% long term mortgage, and inflation is high, every year your salary goes up while you still pay the same amount of money to the bank. Government bonds work the same way.

The US economy has never had a soft landing in it's entire history under the Federal Reserve. Once they cut interest rates; you have 3-6 months before something breaks. This is because everyone is busy refinancing old debts with new ones, while losing cash flow and driving up inflation further with a new demand spike. The demand flow breaks the back of the working class and suddenly the weight of everything implodes. If they cut interest rates even 25pts in August/September; the market will crash by March.

As per Danielle Di Martino it is close to 9%, like another commentator said, economy is good for the upper class not for middle or lower class, just look of the homeless population and the massive lay offs, nobody accounts for that, things are not what they seem to Wall Street, at least it is not what I see at work.

In the tale of two Americas, the squeeze or reduction in percentage (-18%) of Middle Income America also shows an increase in Upper Income America of +50%. To me that is a success story. Worth noting that many in middle America successfully joined the Upper income class. Seems that more growth in the Upper Income category than those that dropped to the Lower Income America. As for the economy, much of inflation was generated by rapid increase in hourly wages at the Lower Income category. Where Lower Income wages had been stagnant for decades, the post pandemic supply chain and labor shortages have finally increased lower Income wages from $8-$10 per hour to over $20 per hour. That too is a success story for many in the Lower Income America. No doubt the cost of day to day goods and services (rent, food, etc) have dramatically increased but you don’t hear much about raising the minimum wage anymore. Average wages exceed minimum wages significantly as Supply and Demand actually works.

How do you have an entire video dedicated to talking about inflation, and more specifically, the inflation of the 2020s, without at all mentioning its actual cause? Your explanation was very fancy and peppered with examples, but more simply and specifically, inflation = an increase in money supply, and a biproduct of an increased money supply is more dollars chasing relatively less goods. This causes prices of everything to go up (not just cars). Shampoo, lettuce, paper, a vacation, lawn care from little Timmy who lives down the street, etc. are all going up because of an inflated money supply. Please tell me you're not a fed.

In fact, there is no room for money created out of debt, because such money owes its value to the perception that it will be paid back. Yet debt-based money will create inflation that will degrade the value of people’s labor, and thus it is inevitable that they will eventually grow the debt to a size that individuals or nations cannot pay back. The reason being that the debt was incurred when labor had a certain value, but due to inflation, it has to be paid back when labor has lost value. It is only a matter of time before the deficit grows larger than people’s physical ability or their willingness to work as slaves.

By doing so, US can free up all their military bases, thus deploying such heavy expenses for domestic redevelopment and reducing its national debts.. By doing so for the next 10 years, US then is able to stand high and proud of its national world status quo... 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤

the logical question that could be asked here is this: “To whom do the people of Greece owe the money the nation has borrowed?” And then a further question: “To whom do the people of all nations owe the money?” You might say, “Well, they owe a lot of money to French banks, and that is why France is so eager to find a solution.” Yet then ask a further question: “Who owns the banks that are based in France? Are they truly French banks, or are they simply internationally owned banks that have their headquarters or operations in France?” If you keep asking these questions and “following the money,” you will see that there is a rather small network of financial institutions that truly have no national allegiance, but have allegiance only to an international elite of people whose agenda respects neither nations nor peoples. They use nations only as a base, and they use people either as cannon fodder or as economic slaves. So why would the people of a free democratic society feel any obligation to pay back money owed to an elite that has no respect for them, their democratic rights or their God-given rights?

Adam invested in himself through education and reaped the rewards of those decisions. John took a different approach. It is what it is and no amount of left leaning policies will change it. You want higher wages, stock options and stability? Invest in yourself and stop waiting on a handout.

In other words, life is likely to change. Start living within your means or you will regret it. Better yet, start saving at every opportunity. The stock market does NOT represent the true economic story because Wall Street supports the efforts tp pump up the dollar. It's falling.
