It’s 2024: I can’t believe I forgot about this song….i heard it for the first time in 10 years when this song just came out…..this song holds so special to my heart because 10 years ago I was getting abused regularly and when I heard this song…..it was my anchor… for 3 minutes and 10 seconds I could forget about the trauma and abuse I was experiencing. 10 years later I’m 22 no longer getting abused…I just remember singing this song as a 12 year old trying to break free and singing this song to the top of my lungs out of excitement that I can’t seem to find right now…..which I don’t know how in the world I obtained such excitement in that abusive situation. But I can testify today that I can still have a beautiful day and have a smile on my face even if my excitement is Not complete but I can still pursue Jesus. This song just analyzed my personal spiritual life & what I need to do daily to stay motivated and this song let me know I’m not going crazy and it keeps me from doing something stupid because of a split moment when I feel depressed and I don’t know how to control it! I feel like I have to listen to this song because of what this song gave me it’s like I have a witness that encourages me because it remembers what I been through and what I have to overcome after math. I love this song this song is still my anchor!!!!!!!!! It truly truly gets me through a day!!!!!!!!!!

This was the song I had as my alarm to wake up to every day at church camp, where I was waking up at 6 AM after a LONG day of service projects and worship. So whenever I hear the first notes, it reminds me of feeling like death at 6 AM and how awful the room we were staying in smelled and how uncomfortable my bed was. But it also reminds me of camp and how much fun it was and all the beautiful kids I got to mentor to and how amazing the worship is. So it's so funny, when I first hear it I have this trigger reaction of "ew" and then it makes me happy.
