The CEO of LV, I am pretty sure said about 70% of their customers are middle class. In other words most are average people who think carrying an LV bag makes them look affluent.

Exactly. Moreover, who cares what other people do with their money? Don't buy what you can't afford, sure, but if you can afford it and it makes you happy, buy it. Life is short and, for many people, fashion is intriguing and fun.

I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks and made about $246k,but guess what? I put it all back and traded again and now I am rounding up close to a million

I’ve already learned early on working at the bank back then… that people who are flashy with these designer brands can’t even cash their paycheck against their account because they’re mostly negative balance… and the person that looks like a bum that comes in the bank has several millions and accounts with the bank… So don’t judge people of what they can buy. Stay humble. ❤

What makes these luxury brands so successful is that they have perfected the marketing to the general demographic, that if you can obtain their stuff, you're "in" with the wealthy demographic. And evidently in this video demostrates, the majority of purchasers are the average joe

Hi there, I've done some strategy consulting work with luxury brands before. The technical term for the profile of customers you are describing is "aspirants". They are the fastest growing segment for luxury brands. Go figure =p
@firstlast9488
@firstlast9488 10 ай бұрын
louis vuitton buyers arent average joes, but more like upper middle class. think about it. LV is the LARGEST luxury brand in the world. you dont get to that position by catering only to the 1%. even if there was a brand that only the 1% could afford, do you think their closets would only be filled by that brand? a company's #1 priority is to make profits, so LV has perfected the balance of selling enough products at enough of a price point that maximizes that.

Maybe iits the average Joe that goes into the store to make purchases. Super Rich don’t need to do that. They often have personal shoppers/ assistants making these purchases for them. LV also brings their pop up shops directly yo wealthy clients- they never have to leave home to shop.

I grew up with some extremely wealthy relatives and I can tell you a few things I've learned: 1. most wealthy people are not obsessed with designer brands--it's more about the quality than the brand itself. Part of being wealthy is a mindset as well and this includes not falling the urge to buy the newest and latest everything. Money makes more money in investments than it would if you bought 40k worth of Louis Vuitton luggage. It's more about having your priorities in check because often times you are trying to impress people you don't know and don't care about. 2. There's a difference between the aesthetic of old money and new money (nouveau riche). Old money, being generational wealth or family company passed down and trust fund/investments and dividends vs nouveau riche which are people and families that recently started making lots of money but didn't really grow up wealthy or with money. Old money folks don't usually wear very flashy things but they may still wear expensive and good quality clothes and don't usually seek out designer brands with their logos everywhere with the exception of Louis Vuitton and Gucci handbags or luggage. They often have hand me down rolex's, jewelry, luggage, and handbags. Old money folks often think people wearing head to toe designer logos is very gauche. They are usually well educated and come from a family who has attended elite schools. They often have a summer home somewhere and travel there with their family and friends as well as trips abroad but they may do a tour group over having an instagram worthy vacation. On the other hand, nouveau riche folks like to be ostentatious and ensure people know they are wealthy. They seek out designer brands and buy flashy homes and cars. They love wearing the latest trends or starting their own trends and love head to toe designer clothes and being covered in logos. They love traveling to the instagram sensational places and take pictures of everything they do and also stay at the nicest hotels that are picture worthy and eat at the most popular restaurants. They may or may not be educated. Many of these folks make money from a company or social media and feel the need to stick to trends to maintain followers but it doesn't necessarily improve your success even though some feel it does. 3. You'll notice people like Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg wear expensive and quality T-shirts everywhere since people already know they are wealthy so they wear what is comfortable. In conclusion, designer clothes aren't everything. If you can't afford them you really aren't missing out. Yes some designers have quality items but there's ebay and the real real and other luxury consignment shops for those things. Buying new is a marketing tactic these companies feed off of. They want the upper middle class and middle middle class to envy the higher classes because they make more money as a result. It's up to you if you want to buy into this or not because it's all an illusion.

@Dawnarow
@Dawnarow Жыл бұрын
seems is the most accurate word you've formulated, here. Rami said "able to afford" also a good hint, but... he also said that he goes there once a year and was BY FAR the highest grossing person in this video. If you need more hints... look at how organisms grow. If you don't know biology? Open a book. Answers are where they should be... Success is not growth: it's to maintain and consolidate. If you think it's about exponential growth you simply dont grasp that the world currently drives off of impressions and its definitely not a life worth living if you know that you're exploiting it. Your answers will seem shallow if someone investigates. Sadly, too many people are mindless. / I dont have notifications for responses I hope this gave you a glimpse, but I'm not going to teach any of it, here. There is an aspect that is convoluted and has absolutely nothing to do with any type of physical effort that is overlooked by 93% of people that "are successful (your definition)" and never experienced happiness for they keep seeking for dopamine and give them to their children mindlessly (along with, more often than not: religious contradictions, mindless common sayings, the total absence of knowledge intrinsically associated with their neglect and being too ignorant to say: "I don't know" and formulate something that would help others grasp that they're Not what you should strive to become). Best wishes to you... whoever you are. Try not to rely on luck!

More and more people might face a tough time in retirement. Low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents make it hard to save. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire without any investment. Just want to say, you do not need £200k to speak to a Financial Adviser - I think this is a bit of a generalisation from some of the massive corporate advice firms like Vanguard. If you feel that you will benefit from financial advice regarding investments, insurance, pensions, Inheritance Tax liabilities, etc. then I absolutely encourage you to speak to a regulated independant advice firm - It could be the difference between a hard graft for life and a managable retirement! It is always worth checking for reviews beforehand though.

Stuff will never make you happy long term. I work hard. I work full time and I don’t make six figures. But I’m educated with a college degree, I’m honest, and I pay my taxes. I am charitable. And I will never be able to buy a 2,000 dollar purse just because. I’m happily married and we live a happy humble middle class life. Stuff will always be there to buy. @@r.sakarollsafe1285 that's one hilarious comment. I'm on $320 a week from my cleaning job, $110,000 a year on the cane fields, $220 a week delivering pizza and own my own business selling cured jerky and biltong which takes in an Xtra $30k. I do it out of love for job variety and I can't keep still. I'm university educated in a bachelor degree of social work so education and knowledge has FK all to do with my situation 🤣...oh and I own 3 cars, my house, a boat and a Polaris Ranger so I'm definitely not "scrapping to get by"

*I didn't become financially independent until I was in my late 40's, and I'm still in my 40's. In addition to having purchased my second home and earning money on a monthly basis through passive income, I've also achieved three out of five goals. I just hope this inspires someone to realize that it doesn't matter if you don't have any of these things yet, you can start today no matter your age. Change your future by investing! My sister bought a LV bag (in the store in case somebody think it was a fake one) for my mother and the quality was so bad... like it rippled after such a short time and my mum is really careful with her stuff... never again. I saw this documentary on youtube, where they showed how brand items are made in the same factory as fast fashion item. Their prices are not explainable today (they can just continues with it because they made a name for themselves), since it's not hand made anymore like they claim. The only time i would spend some more money on a bag is, when it comes from a small business and is handmade. That is actually worth a investment

There's a great video about how luxury brands make ordinary people poor (ok, I don't think an entrepreneur with a 6-figure income is an ordinary person really, but you know what I mean). Millionaires and social media influencers get this stuff for free because it's free advertising for the brand, but ordinary people spend money on this crap because they want to impress people and live up to Instagram standards. In the meantime, you couldn't imagine Steve Jobs or Princess Diana wearing this flashy stuff.

From my experience of meeting and knowing people, the old money don't aspire to buy these. It's the new money or average joe's or in specific countries where they are culturally materialistic that buy them. Long story short, real rich don't aren't fixated with high end goods and it's rare that they are flashy (clothing, bags) when you meet them. They reinvest and do other things with their money and buy plain looking clothes that gets them unnoticed. Moral of the story, high end luxury brands are great at marketing and targeting the middle class due to their buying power with all their spare time to always aspire (and to a certain extent lower class) to think you need this to look rich... but it's all a facade in reality

Some do. Sometimes popularity trickles up. Wealthy people are human too. They look at those middle class luxuries goes popular and they dip their toes in the water. Then they hide those item in closet and go back being all preppy. They just don’t flunk it because it’s their guilty pleasure.

Also, sometimes people in sales need these. Banking advisors, high end escort, real estate agents etc. It’s not their fault that being shallow is their customer’s human nature.

I was asking myself this question the other day. Who ARE these people who buy $9000 lounge suites and designer clothes? I have nothing in common with them... Lol Even if I could afford it, I doubt I would waste my money on a designer label item just because of the brand. I always found that so superficial. Maybe if it was something I had a fetish for and I had money to burn I'd consider it (surely you can find something better than that airplane bag... Lol) - I'd probably end up with a bed cover made of rabbit fur or something ewww to the average person. God knows, I don't allow myself to think what I would do if I had that much money... Surely it would be more gallant to use it to help people around you. I like how you can talk to people and get on their level enough to convince them to open their houses up to you. That's a talent! I've only just found your channel tonight and I'm enjoying going along on the adventures! I think it's a really good theme to talk to the wealthy so people realise that money is not the solution to all of life's problems. I mean, you want to have your basics covered if you can, but I just saw a video of the piano lady who was playing on the streets of Melbourne for years, Natalie Trayling, and it shows how little some individuals need to find peace. Really what most of us crave is connection and community. And the lucky ones find God along the way too.
