It’s crazy hearing this song when you’re younger then coming back and really relating to the lyrics. They were making conscious dance floor music consistently *edit he got the idea for the living underground when he went overseas and everyone was underground at the clubs. And the streets were pretty deserted

It's the first time I've heard the longer version, and I don't really like it. The interlude sounds like a completely different song was inserted in the middle. But to each their own I guess.

Jamiroquai have been of my favorite bands for years. Besides the obvious hit singles I've always loved their deeper cuts, like Tallulah, Manifest Destiny, Butterfly, Falling, Spend a Lifetime, Vitamin, just to name some. They rarely miss imo.

Jamiroquai really are a band worth doing a deep dive into. Their second album in particular - The Return of the Space Cowboy - is a masterpiece and completely stands up now. The musicianship is OFF THE SCALE, and the bass playing - by the master that is Stuart Zander - has never been surpassed by anyone imho. IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND! The whole album is fire 🔥 but one of my favourites is Scam - would love to see you check that out.

Canned heat is one of their funkiest and driven songs. Virtual Insanity was their biggest hit i think because of the video. But they have way better stuff. Its a good starting point though.

Jay Kay is a legend. Underrate front man, dude could sing, dance, had style and was an amazing live performer. There's this one concert I think in Italy where it rains the whole time, but he delivers anyway. Also, anyone who has not seen the video should, it's legit one of the great ones.

OMG! You guys finally did Jamiroquai! I've loved this band ever since i first heard them with that song you just listened to 😎 There hasn't been a single album from them i haven't liked. I feel that their earlier stuff is def more jazzier and the later albums have been funkier. But all good and solid! Prob my absolute fav from them is Blow Your Mind from their Emergency on Planet Earth album (full 8m31s version) with a close 2nd being Two Completely Different Things off their Rock Dust Light Star album. I really, really, really hope you guys do some more Jamiroquai songs! Long time veiwer of you guys and absolutely love your drive and passion!

Jay Kay has a natural singing voice he got from his Mum who was a great singer herself. I think viewing his video or the concert from Verona will give you an idea of his talent because the man can dance while he sings and does it well. Enjoyed your reaction and I think you need to listen to more of his music because because he mixes it up a bit😊❤

Jamiroquai "Travelling Without Moving" (1996 album): masterpiece. I also love heavy metal as some here have commented. It happens that generally those who like metal also like really good music, "sophisticated", regardless of the musical genre. Jamiroquai has other excellent records. A special band. I was at a very good concert by them here in Brazil (Free Jazz Festival in Rio de Janeiro) in the late 90s.

Loves me some Jamiroquai! I remember first seeing them on BET TV when I was in college in the late 90s (old man here) and I loved the video. It was from their second album "Return of the Space Cowboy", and the video was the title track. There was a cool stationary camera moving in a circle, and Jay was dancing around it, plus it showed the other members. Really cool music, and their videos have always been really cool. The video to this track is legendary! Really ground-breaking stuff. Thanks for sharing this!

p.s. The band really was amazing. Drummer Derrick McKenzie always had a super tight playing style that really grooved, and keyboardist Toby Smith always had some great ideas that got you humming. Bassist Stuart Zender was really great as well.

Wow, you hit the nail on the head for my exact opinion of the length of the original vs. the video...the video snaps it off right at that little riff they do at the end and skips the breakdown, and it's perfect...it hits and leaves you wanting more rather than outstaying it's welcome...that can be such a fine line sometimes, and this is one time that the radio/video editors got it absolutely right.

Ryan, this is the song that introduced hubby to Jamiroquai, and he initially thought it was a Stevie song he had never heard before. The album version, however, was not what was playing on local radio. The music vid version is what we heard initially. Btw, he loves watching their live vids here on YT.
