Everyone in the vicinity of Muzan has their fate entirely dictated by him. There is no running. Once she noticed him, it had been too late to run for quite some time. Not that she would though, but just pointing out that this is the father of all demons we're talking about here. His blood literally gives them power. He is a world above the rest of the demons as terrifyingly powerful as they already are.

PS, in extra manga pages, the author confirmed that Sayo was referring to the demon when she cried about the “killer man”. Now, she’s 14 (around Nezuko and Muichiro’s age) and desperately regrets her word choice, and wants to apologize to Gyomei (her character never appears again). 😞

In her state of shock, Sayo exclaimed: "That man is a monster! He... killed everyone!", referring to the demon that infiltrated the temple. However, with the demon's remains disintegrated by the morning sun and only the children's lifeless bodies remaining, the villagers misunderstood Sayo's words and wrongly attributed the murders to Gyomei. Sayo, still traumatized by the incident, struggled to articulate herself properly and failed to dispel the suspicions that had befallen Gyomei, causing him to be unjustly imprisoned and charged with the heinous crime of killing the eight children.

But the thing is a disturbing amount of guys find that out way too late after a lot of confusing rejection, because we are all raised to be as nice as possible and we think that what we like in women then they like as well in us. Growing up, it was genuinely confusing why was I getting those kinds of mixed signals, but then it's very common for this un-flattering fact of attraction to be hidden away from our awareness by everything around. But once you see it, it's really obvious.

It suprises me that Gyomei doesn't get as much love from the DS community,a s many other characters. He is an extremely strong hashira and very handsome, kind hearted and caring man. His back story made me cry when I read it in the manga. He's my favorite hashira next to Sanemi. I just want bro to be happy. :*(
