what a crap response, imagine the reaction if you had said that to her when she opened up to you.. gosh when mom came out to me as bi, I said "omg I always thought you were straight" then I thought back on how much more I crushed on girls than guys growing up and realized I wasn't straight either. my sister, with a brief explanation, helped mom and I both realize we're actually pan. this all came from mom ranting in the car about an ex gf that cheated on her with some bad boy type. I'm always grateful sis knew some queer terminology else my orientation would still be "wtf is going on" so it's always better to be open with your kids, give insight and be curious. there's nothing confusing about making things clear, heck I wished I'd learned what pan was back when I was 13 cos that's when I started having girl crushes. thinking I was weird cos I grew up in fuckin backwardsville pennsylvania where the school's queer demographic consisted of a single known lesbian and that's it. everyone, especially girls, from all cliques made fun of her, spread rumors to make it sound like she was gross, masculine, or made lesbian her entire personality. funny that queerphobes claim we do that to ourselves. so I never talked about my girl crushes, only boys. even though I thought about girls a lot more. it just didn't make sense to me.. I was confused af being in the dark about queerdom. I think your mom was lucky to have a kid so insightful and patient with them, and she didn't appreciate it. now you're gone from the energy hope and joy vampire, I wish you a good life to spite her ignorant self.

My asexual awakening character moment was probably when I watched Disney's "Moana" for the second or third time, and I realized what I love most about it is how refreshing it is to have a movie with an adult(ish) female lead who doesn't get bogged down with romance stuff. For her entire story, even though she spends lots of the movie alone with a man who (as far as we know) isn't in a relationship himself. I've never minded stories with romance in them, but seeing films where the girl has a great character arc without a hint of romance or sexual tension even when there's potentially single guys around... to me it's like taking that first breath of outdoor air on the first really /cool/ autumn day after a long summer.

They might have some questions, for sure, but in all the times I've talked to kids about LGBT+ subjects and individuals (including talking to my own kids about my being queer & their dad being bi, as well as their cousin being nonbinary), they've never been even remotely fazed. (kids are generally great about dealing with accidentally screwing up someone's pronouns, too, unlike a lot of adults I've noticed! No arm-waving or overreacting or making it all about them and their feelings vs. the feelings of the person they misgendered. It slightly breaks my heart that this was unimaginable 30 years ago, but then heals my heart back up again to witness how incredible the younger generations are in supporting and loving LGBTQIA+ people. I also just LOVE Nick stating "I'm bisexual" all the time, and how Tara and Darcy say they're lesbians and not just "gay". It's refreshing to hear that and not just "I like women/girls". And also to hear characters say bisexual and bi so openly. As a bisexual, I love seeing it. I'm so happy for the younger audiences that get to watch the show during the time when they can still dream with a sweet high-school romance. And I love the talk around consent and how outing people is not okay and the acceptance of trans and aroace people for who they are.

Then needed how many more surgeries (revisions) on it? I believe 4 is the usual number before there's nothing left to work with, and they just give up! Though could be worse! it could have just started to rot whilst attatched like others have. Basically it dies, decompose, then falls off. The men who have a faux vagina made from a piece of their colon don't fare any better either. Having to force the hole open (which always smells of shit, cos it's from the arsehole,) with medical dildos several times a day, , so that it doesn't heal up. And is excruciatingly painful. They have constant infections, cos it doesnt self clean, like an actual vagina. And sex with thrse created genitals isn't feasible. One guy who tried intercause with an mtf, described it as a physically painful, and embaressing experience for both parties. Comparing it to sex with a dead, unyielding muscle, that rigamortis had set into! Many end up with colostomy bags! And that's just some of the misery after genital mutilation surgeries! The damage that cross sex hormones does to the body is scandalous! Infertility, the risk of heart attack from testosterone is about 3 times more likely in FtMs than in actual men! That's just some of the physical issues. The mental stress is obviously way higher post, than pre all these barbaric frankensteinesque procedures! Accepting oneself for who we are is being authentic. Not living a lie like this! But that would mean acknowledging homosexuality in most cases....and that won't do will it! We cant have that much authenticity! The cult of trans is also the most homophobic cult Must trans away the Gay ....at any cost! Jamie and her partner more or less admitted this. July is Violence (Celebrating the singing of a document that caused a war with explosives? Seems violent enough.) August is Wrath (I lied about May; August has a nothing sin too.) September is Theft (Like I said, not all of these have some big meaning.) October is Blasphemy (People say Halloween is "of the devil", I know it historically isn't, but this works for our purposes here.) November is Gluttony (Thanksgiving of course.) Something I never really hear anyone talk about regarding "cis" and why some people might react unfavorably: It's a relatively harsh sounding phrase and when we produce it, our faces grimace into something snarl like, thus making it easy to mistake it for an insult. You know, like "wasp" sounds more harsh and aggressive than the comfy and soft sounding "bumblebee", which might indirectly shape our expectations for the thing referred to. Don't get me wrong, it's mostly homophobia, but I think there's always a bit more going on under the hood to how we react to stuff compared to how we sometimes may want to reduce it to a single reason. At least that was my initial reaction to the word. Also as a cis person we are usually privileged to not being used to feeling "othered" in terms of gender if that makes any sense. The difference being I then simply educated myself on the meaning and etymology of "cis", accepted/adopted the term and moved on from being initially butthurt 😅.

I still don't like the prefix. It reminds me of the word piss while trans sounds travel related. I want a travel sounding prefix, too. And a way of saying the same basic thing without making it sound like one is in agreement with gender norms. That was my biggest issue. Of course everyone decided I was a transphobe just because of my fixation on how a word sounds to me personally. It has nothing to do with anything else. I'm autistic though and just have different ways of looking at things. Gender and linguistics both. And of course I have no idea when it's ok to say something and when it's going to get misunderstood and upset everyone else. Someday, when I'm long dead, the language will shift no doubt.

I don't know if anyone else has commented that yet, but in Germany, "divers" is actually the third gender option on birth certificates. All job descriptions that don't need a specific gender now have (m/w/d) behind it meaning male/female/divers. I don't know why they decided to give it that name and if I remember correctly, it was established for intersex people and not so much for non-binary people, but hey, at least there is a third option.

When the second failed, I had space to reflect and realized I’ve had crushes on women I’ve been really close with through the years as well, just already in a relationship and never thought about what it meant. Aesthetically always liked women more, but as I’m demi, I never had that like “celebrity sexy crush” awakening or anything. Def found people of all genders “hot,” but it doesn’t translate to actual “sexy feelings” if you know what I mean. Then I realized I fell hard in *all* the ways for someone AFAB in my life that I was close enough to that they’d made it in under my “demi” umbrella. So I realized I’m bi in my 40s.🤷‍♀️

5:06 Unfortunately, even if you think your family will be supportive, you can be surprised by them. My mom has been in relationships with men & women in her life. For most of my childhood, she was in a long term relationship with a woman. In high school, I thought she would be supportive when I told her I was bi & introduced her to my girlfriend. She immediately said she didn't believe me & wanted me to kiss my girlfriend in front of her to "prove" I wasn't faking it. I kissed her on the cheek because I didn't feel comfortable doing a full on kiss in front of my own mother (I would have felt the same if she asked me to do this with a boyfriend I introduced her to). That relationship didn't last very long because my mom made it really uncomfortable for both of us.

My bi awakening as a demisexual trans man was elliot page when he came out ❤ I've had to come out so many times lol but I recently had to say "I'm bi actually" to my sister even tho she already knew 😂 To quote the brilliant Whoopi Goldberg "if you don't like gay marriage, don't marry a gay person." ❤ My niece will be 6 tomorrow and she is my biggest supporter , ive been her uncle shane since day one and she loves me regardless. Kids are so supportive when not taught to hate ❤ Oh also i thknk that is the goose from untitled goose game ❤️

I remember talking to my very Homophobie/Transphobic relative. One day she was sitting close to me at the table with a lost look on her face. She then turned to me and asked "So...are LGBT people actually hurting anyone?" And I said no. And she had this huff and asked: "Then why the big deal about it?" and I shrugged and she left and I haven't heard anything phobic from her since. I was really confused cuz...what happened? Did she have a random moment of ally-enlightenment?

'Divers' is a mistranslation (or rather a non-translation) from the German 'diverse' meaning not clearly male or female. In Germany there are four gender entry possibilities in official documents: male, female, diverse and no entry.

Even though I’m cis I really appreciate that the German language school I’ll be attending (again) in a few weeks has that option on the sign-up form. They also have toilet door signs that explicitly state that transgender people are welcome to use the toilets on campus. Of course, they should always be, but making it explicit so that transphobes are clearly in the wrong if they harass people for just needing to pee or poo is good.

all the bi awakening memes remind me a lot of one of my favourite things about figuring out i'm a gay trans man, and it's that Team Fortress 2 was literally my awakening. the absolute insane FPS full of equally insane men who blow each other up and have weapons such as hilariously expensive golden frying pans and literal jars of pee made me realise i'm a guy, and i am incredibly proud of it :) godspeed

I must admit, and I actually like it, that at the tender age of 51 I am not really sure what I am. I mean in terms of bi or gay. I used to see myself as a gay trans man, but I now see myself more as nonbinary and.... well bi-curious? The reason I see myself as nonbinary is that I spent 40 years of my life presenting as a woman, trying to be a woman and... 40 years is a long time. After I had transitioned and came to the point where no one misgendered me I suddenly realized that there were a lot of "female" still lingering in me (for lack of a better way to put it. It confused and scared me at first until I realized that it was perfectly fine, did not make me less of a trans person, or less of a person period. At the stage I am now I honestly have no need to define myself thwy way I used to. I am Lukas and well that is all people need to know. If someone asks me if I am male or female I usually only answer: Yes 🙂
