Rarely do you see a band like this who are so experienced they sound like a studio recording during a live performance; rarely do you see musicians playing at this level of expression, fluidity, creativity, tightness, and energy anywhere. As a musician, I am excited, ecstatic, and humbled every time I hear and see this recording. Traut sounds like someone took a recording of a creative and experienced trumpet player and dropped it a couple of octaves; never heard anyone do trombone like this before! Warm Aloha from Hawaii, play on and on and on......

+Tim Mann Yeah and it's impressive because we have this JAM session every single saturday! the recording doesn't show that it's an open place, near the sea, with a lot of people talking and laughing. It sounds like a closed theater or a studio. Almost too clean! It's my favorite saturday program in Salvador.

Being a trumpet player for over 30 plus yrs and playing night in tunisa thru high school and college I would have to give hats off to that trombone player..He's got the juice! Dizzy smilin..

Trombonist Matias Traut is a great talent. Sure he's is technically outstanding, but it's his superb tone that really impresses. BTW, the definitive "Night In Tunisia" trombone solo is J.J. Johnson's wonderful rendition on the "JJ and Kai Plus Six."

Sabem qual o epitáfio do músico Jazzista? "Aqui Jazz". :-P Sensacional! Conheci essa música através de um CD chamado "Latin Jazz Ska", num cover feito pela banda Skaks. Venho de uma vertente musical mais do rock pesado, punk, hardcore, grindcore essas coisas. Mas sempre curti algumas bandas da "terceira onda" do Ska (Ska Punk/Ska Core), em especial, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Também já ouvi um pouco de The Specials. Mas, agora, procurando músicas instrumentais para estudar, acabei achando esse CD (Latin Jazz Ska) e, como o nome diz, trouxe algumas músicas de Jazz. Sempre tive resistência em ouvir o estilo, por não entender os improvisos. Mas depois de ouvir uma versão normal de "A Night in Tunisia" várias vezes e, agora, ouvindo essa versão cheia de improvisos, consegui compreender e apreciar bem melhor o Jazz. Continuarei ouvindo e procurando conhecer e aprender mais sobre o estilo. Parabéns pelo conteúdo!
