Paul was devastated and vulnerable, and "cried all the time." Perhaps, the reason why Linda was so extremely jealous of Jane according to Paul's biographer/friend said that Linda didn't want Paul around the people he and Jane associated with. I've been reading a lot and it strikes me of what type of person Jane is, who has never written a book or commented on their relationship. It’s not old news. Most people only care about her because of her relationship with someone who is infinitely times more famous and talented than she. It has nothing to do with sex. No one here in the comment section would even know or care about her if not for the association.

I agree that having done so much on her own who needs to dredge up some personal bad times half a century later. We interviewed her a few years back about her work in MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH (one of Nicholas Roeg's early films, this one working with Corman during the Poe cycle). She couldn't have been nicer....I meant to ask her about the frightening scene she played in when she must've been all of 7-8 years old---if that---in THE QUATERMASS EXPERIMENT, as well as the other NIgel Kneale project she did for the BBC, THE STONE TAPE. Maybe we can pester her again.----tho a lot of creative people don't like to talk about things they did so long ago, but what they're currently up to. ( (Btw, I thought her husband's main work was as an artist: He supervised the wild animation in THE WALL. Great artist.

You are trying to defend Paul's dishonorable actions. He cheated on Jane because she believed in him and he betrayed her trust. There are millions of women who work for a living but that does not mean they do not love or value their husbands, partners. If he had any integrity he would have broken up with her and continued to roll with groupies. She would have accepted it. Instead, she caught him in the bed they shared with a girl. And, from all accounts Jane was deeply in love with Paul. They were engaged to be married and you attack her? Whatever. Jane is a very private person and her relationship with Paul was personal to her. People need to respect that.

If he felt alone he could have broken up with her instead of fucking propose to her, she didn't talk about it cause she didn't felt the necesity to share her private life with everyone. And you can't pretend like you know how their relationship was and call her an abuser, even if she hadn't love him you can't compare that with abuse. In any case Paul was the one who didn't respect her, he didn't care about how much she loved acting and asked her to live it all for being with him all the time, and if you love someone a lot you wouldn't cheat on them

Jane has been the president of Arthritis Care in Britain for a very long time. According to Ruth McCartney, Paul was abusive towards his elderly father who had crippling Arthritis -he could not even be bothered going to his father's funeral. What is sad about this is that Paul was not like that when he was with Jane. As Brown pointed out, Paul was able to have humility when he was with Jane. So, when she left him he obviously lost it. Some people attempt to make Jane and Linda some sort of adversaries, when that was not the case. From what's been made public in more recent years, Paul was just a much better person with Jane.
