Jane Siberry's brilliant anthem, 'Symmetry (The Way Things Have to Be)' from her 1984 album No Borders Here never had a video. This Busby Berkeley confection plugs that gap. The visuals are from Dames (1934)'s title number. (Note that as well as looking better than ever on Blu-ray these days, Michel Gondry and Matthew Barney have drawn extensively on Dames over the last 20 years, and Edgar Wright has screened it at various festivals.) While many people nowadays associate symmetry in film with Wes Anderson or Stanley Kubrick, in my view Busby Berkeley got there first and deepest. At any rate, I think the combination of Siberry and Berkeley works very well.
[This vid. marginally improves the resolution of a video I made 4 years ago. The small improvement sadly comes at the cost of losing all the lovely comments on the old version. :( For larger improvement check out vimeo!
