ME TOO! I fell in love with Jane Wyman when a young teen...being so damn old now but then I would see her on screen or in the many Hollywood screen magazines...and I was the giddy school kid, but old and mature enough to see and love her great beauty, she so classy and from all one can know, she was one wonderful lady. I see her here and she is older, but still beautiful. Oh Jane, oh Jane! Thanks for being in the films, etc. I wonder if stars as her realize how much joy and happiness they give us. I soon after fell in love with the amazing actor, singer, dancer; Doris Day. But Jane was the first! See? Even when the outer shell gets old, let us always keep the boy, the girl in us. My mind and heart is more ready to love than when 30-40.

Jane Wyman was 79 years old in this 1996 interview. She would be 104 now if she had lived. What an extraordinary lady. One of the great movie stars of the Golden Era of Hollywood...a real mega Star when Stars were STARS. One of the great actresses of the 20th century. A true icon and legend. What a classy women she was. RIP Jean Wyman (1914-2007)👠💎📽🎬🎬🌟🌟🌟🌟

Oh yeah..no self-serving political stances or agendas. All the stars bathed...lol...The epitome of elegance. Her, Loretta Young, Cesar Romero, Marion Davies, etc etc..

In addition to being an incredibly talented actor and singer, She was also a very devout Catholic.. and an extremely generous person. She was always very grateful and humble about her success. Could use more like her today.

devout catholic and generous person are in no way synonymous with one another. Besides, she was married and divorced 5x, so I'm not sure how Catholic she was. I love and respect her very much, Falcon Crest was one of my favorite shows while growing up and also greatly admired The Lost Weekend, but just cut that religious crap out!

thanks for posting....great interview...jane was a tough only broad....she is 80 here and looks and sounds great.....always love her in falcon crest she came up in hollywood during a time women were not respected in any industry as men felt they shld be home coooking and keeping house....in those days a women had develope a thick skin and tough xterior....stanwyke,davis,turner....all became..stand toe to toe...look you directly in the eye and speak their mind or be totally disguarded in hollywood.

Hi Michael- thank YOU for tuning in! You can't see it in the frame, but Ms. Wyman had a fantastic oil portrait of herself on the wall as Belinda McDonald... her entire condo had thick wall to wall white carpeting, and she was listening to Henry Mancini when we arrived... while drinking something that looked like iced tea in a highball glass- but I bet there was a bit of vodka mixed in... :)

Never looked up an interview regarding Ms. Wyman until now. I remember the movie Johnny Belinda and remembered her from that and thought to KZfaq her. She does seem very bright and articulate and dedicated. Wonderful lady on this interview.

***** Thank you for this. It does give an insight I have read on bios of actors about the shooting schedule and such and the people they worked with. Great to watch her since I knew little about her until this. Again thank you for keeping these folks alive for posterity. :) (I do think she kept a distance of her personal life away from the interview but I don't blame her....too many prying people at times I am sure she has lived through that time and again).

Kim Clayton Awww...! Meeting her was one of the best days of my entire life. I still can't figure out how or why Ronnie and she split up- No offense to Nancy, mind you! BTW- we would never have asked her personal questions... we were only interviewing her for her professional memoirs... no dirty laundry or skeletons in the closet- UGH! Who cares? The PICTURES are all that matter...

***** Yes I know from something I saw quoted that didn't know a "damn thing about politics". I often wondered if that was the real reason for the divorce. Any politician of that era needed the wife to support and travel with them and when you loved your acting career you couldn't do both and I am only humbly guessing that was perhaps the problem. Interesting that Nancy looked very similar to Jane I thought. But I loved this lady in Johnny Belinda. Great film and also had one of my favorite character actresses Aggie Moorehead. Great film. :)

Kim Clayton Well- Ronnie was not a politician when they divorced in 1948-49... I think that maybe they simply lost the magic between them? Or that Jane won the Oscar that year for Johnny Belinda?

Hello! Sorry for the delay in replying- it's been a busy week- Miss Wyman was totally terrific- she really appreciated that we were a crew of two (plus Carole to make three), and that we used ND9 (three F stops) neutral density gel on her picture window so that she could have her mountains behind her- we stayed for about another hour after the interview and had coffee with her... truly one of the best days' work I ever had. :) Best Wishes, Luke Sacher Praeses & Soapbox Productions Inc.

Sadly, this interview was made the year that her daughter Maureen was diagnosed with the melanoma that would ultimately cause her to predecease her mother, dying in 2001, at just 60.

The comedienne Gracie Allen suffered terribly from migraines for years to the point of being hospitalized for them but would somehow will herself to flawlessly do her scheduled radio and television live shows even in the midst of the worst of them even if it meant she had to be in a dark, deadly quiet room (or hospital) for hours before and after her performances. As per her widower, George Burns, she only missed a single radio performance in her career due the migraine being too overwhelming. Luckily, they found a substitute performer who did Miss Allen's somewhat inimitable and unique voice, timing and inflections without any of the radio audience being the wiser. The substitute was ...yes, indeed, JANE WYMAN!

JW was one of the few actresses to rebuke the whole Psycho biddy hagsploitation genre that engulfed the 60's, she refused to even consider appearing in any of them. Unfortunately for many actresses her age that's all they were being offered. Instead, up until 1981 when FC came along, she semi-retired from acting and went full time into painting.

That's Jane Wyatt, not Jane Wyman. Big big difference. Jane Wyman was married to Ronald Reagan, and was an Oscar winning actress.

+soapbxprod That is so wonderful. I may be wearing that outifit right now. I am not as familiar with her career, and I never watched Falcon Crest, so just catching up now. After I saw a few clips, I was surprised to see her walk around on camera like a gun slinger. I feel like I've seen a whole new view on the 80s. But I do remember when those three shows ruled the airwaves. They were real big.

+Wally KhanofMars Oh but Jane was an Oscar winner too, for Johnny Belinda- and she played Ray Milland's wife in "The Lost Weekend"... she was one of Warner Brothers' top three stars with Olivia DeHavilland and Bette Davis... we shall not see ladies of her quality again... :)
