not that it's not amazing, but that's legit one of the most on-the-nose lines in the song...there are so many better ones. >_> don't settle for the lowest man. enjoy the lyricism!! that's what she's best at. I know you do already, I'm just checkin

"'Q.U.E.E.N.' definitely is an acronym," Monae explains during an interview at Fuse HQ. "It's for those who are marginalized." She says the "Q" represents the queer community, the "U" for the untouchables, the "E" for emigrants, the second "E" for the excommunicated and the "N" for those labeled as negroid. "It's for everyone who's felt ostracized," she adds. "I wanted to create something for people who feel like they want to give up because they're not accepted by society."

I hear what you are saying but know that God created every man equal and He alone rules heaven and earth. The constitution did not say it first, God said it first in the Bible. So no man can make you unequal but if you are weak minded or inferior-thinking and believe the lie that's another story. Don't give people power over you or acknowledge their ignorance. Know that Black people and all people in general only need God to validate them. When the white man, black man, yellow man, brown man, pink white blouse man or red man dies, they all go to their death whether in the water, in a fire or can be buried in a casket. Superior only relates to God because only He exists and lives forever and only He is All-Powerful, All-Knowing and All-Supreme. Human beings do not possess these things.

*Janelle Monáe is THE most talented female pop music singer of modern times. Period.* I saw her a few years ago live in Cologne/Germany. She rocked that stage with the energy of a hurricane. If anybody ever has the opportunity to see her live: go for it, you ain't gonna regret it. She's an incredible dancer, a perfect entertainer, seems like a ton of fun - sesame street approved ;-). Her lyrics and often dystopian video clips are quite inspirational. She's a passionate true musician with every fiber, not one of those artificial products pushed by some TV talent show. What more can you ask? Honestly, I don't understand why she isn't by now equally famous as a guy like King of pop Michael Jackson. I'm not saying she isn't successful (maybe she's just more interested in good music than fame, which certainly is a good thing), yet still I'm puzzled why not more people have recognized her talent yet, especially since she's out there for many years already.

Past Janelle was warning us about Future Janelle from jump & y’all were so struck on the fact that she presented herself differently and therefore would be different. She is different though. She wears her sexuality as a mere accessory. It doesn’t define and has never defined her as an artist and THIS IS WHY she is able to go from fully clothed to damn near naked right before our eyes. Marketing at its best imo

I only learned Janelle was 5'0" tall very recently -- in a recent interview, Julia Roberts referred to her as being "no bigger than a minute", which got me wondering how short she was! I'm 5'8" myself, my mom's 5'11" and that side of the family are all tall too -- let's just say I learned I have a terrible bias, and I need to stop judging people by their height. Height is no barrier for the good and great contributions you can make to this world.

Janelle Monae spreads amazing messages of acceptance and pride in a way that is accessible to many different types of people. I adore her and she's one of the only famous people I crush on...I'd love to talk with her, but that's unlikely to happen. I guess I''ll just have to keep listening to her music

maddywoo13 You would make money on that bet. I've seen her live twice. The second time, her voice wasn't in top shape, so she made up for it by crowd surfing. I have a picture of her from about three feet away, and I was in the middle of the audience half-way back. She is so much the real deal. I hope she can find a way to get compensated sufficiently for what she gives to art.

✨❤️✨ That’s exactly what this song was supposed to do...reach kindred spirits and unite us in love no matter our race, ethnicity, culture, etc..I’m a Creole girl from 5th ward Houston Texas lol and look at us, we both love us some Cindi Mayweather. 😆🥰 That touches my soul so much. Anyway let me stop now cause I’ll be here typing all day lol, ...Sending love to you and ALL my tribe! As Janelle says in Cold War: “Bring wings to the weak and bring grace to the strong may all evil stumbles as it flies in the world. ALL THE TRIBES COME AND THE MIGHTY WILL CRUMBLE! We must brave this night and have faith in LOVE.” I live by those lyrics 🤠🤘🏽🇨🇱🇺🇸✨🦋✨🪐✨

I love her too. She's one of the most talented, beautiful, women I've ever seen. She definitely deserves more exposure than she seems to get because she deserves to be celebrated by everyone. This song specifically speaks to me because of it's message of empowerment to ethnicities and LGBT people. Being gay myself, it feels amazing to have artists that write complete songs about injustices like racism and homophobia because a lot of artists are too scared to tread those waters for fear of public backlash. Janelle just plain doesn't care about any of that, and I will love her eternally for it.

Janelle Monae is a False Prophet representing the Dark Age aka Last Days. The video has black and white in it representing duality "good and evil" then she has a verse saying "Hey brother can you save my soul from the devil?" then says "Hey sister am I good enough for your heaven? Say will your God accept me in my black and white?" her black and white represents her being "Good and evil" and the answer to that is NO. Then she's standing in front of an all seeing eye at 5:12 she is a puppet and this song is Trash....

@Q. Amos it's an old offensive term coined between 'white' and the n-word, used to imply someone who is white and favours black culture. The term is used to show disapproval from a white racist, who is not happy with another white person embracing other cultures. But in this case, the original poster is actually indian - not white. So Danielle's comment is worthless on many levels.
