Preciosa voz la de Janis. Con su estilo y personalidad, también brilló, aunque no fue reconocida como tal. El maestro Mendes no se equivocó cuando la eligió también, para ser parte de su maravillosa y única agrupación.

Yes, she had an amazing voice. Some of us didn't realize that, in the "Brasil 66" group, she was singing many of the phrases that we assumed was Lani Hall's voice. Her recording was released into a highly competitive period of American music and needed much more promotion. I never realized this recording was out there. RIP to a standout vocalist.

Sadly, it wasn't released on their debut album. It sure would have gotten them noticed. There weren't any stand out tracks on the record. It didn't sell and their 2nd album got scrapped putting an end to the Carnival. But this song is a gem!

I have a copy of The Carnival on CD with this song. The I have the album and it doesn't have this song., which is a shame because I think this is a standout track.

@@L0un9ePunkYou're right. I wished it was, it would have helped the album standout too. May have opened bigger doors for the Carnival but its a track from their unreleased 2nd album.

Janis performs this Cheryl Ernst-Wells original beautifully. I located it on a vinyl single on B side A side a song by Burt Bacharach and Hal David “Where There’s Heartache” on United Artist label. Thanks for finding it!

The thing about The Carnival is they, like all new groups, needed a hit song (a song to make the public notice them) exactly like the TJB's "the lonely bull" song did for Herb, BUT never got one. Janis had "the voice" no question about it, but they needed a "good" song to catch the public's attention. One of the SMARTEST and most intelligent things Herb ever did was assign "the new and just starting out" Mendes and Brasil 66 group to be the opening act for the HOT TJB when they were starting out. It give them an instant big audience and exposure. They took it from there.
