Dennis Peters, lean into your screen so I can touch my screen next to yours. You saw my Janis. One of my profs saw her perform at Threadgill's. Magic. How can such a powerhouse of talent be dead? The voice that surges through my earphones and crescendos inside my brain is part of some indestructible force. Janis surely must be around, just out of reach-- and I keep searching for something that will slyly evince her presence. I have read the bios, many more than once, and I often have this crazy thought that maybe the end will be different this time. Then I feel goofy because I figure Janis would probably get a good cackle out of a wish that's silly for anyone who isn't a little girl. But she wouldn't be unkind, I feel certain. Little girls, even grown up ones, don't forget.

There was a girl named Karise Eden, on the Voice Australia, who sand 'this is a man's world', and it was as if Janis had taken over her voice. It's worth a listen.

Man, I truly envy you...to have witnessed a true goddess of blues and rock. You must treasure that experience forever. I salute you.
