I am 69 years old and love Janis Joplin and have heard many covers of this song and this is as good as Janis at her best. I cannot think of a higher praise for this talented young lady. Nailed it and some!!!!

No, she didn’t nail it….not in my opinion. She gave a clean version of Janis singing but she did not duplicate Janis voice. She tried and gave a good effort but I could distinctly hear the differences in their voices, especially the soul. You can hear the soul in Joplins voice. I couldn’t hear it in this singers voice. It just wasn’t there. She likely hasn’t been through the crap that janis had to go through, over 50 years ago, to be taken serious. Janis wasn’t a gorgeous little blonde who gets it all their way. Janis had to fight to get her moment in the spotlight.

Yeah ! It is her no wonder I noticed her fantastic looking make up right away, Lol She is a fantastic make up artist and very down to earth . I remember she did mention that she sings . Make up and color go together like acting and politicians. What a talent !

Yasss. This girl's really good. Check out this cover version of Bobby McGee as well. Its sung by pop/R&B singer P!nk. And boy does she do it justice. Actually, Erma Franklin (Aretha's sister) sang it before Janis did, but Janis's version was the smash hit. But, my goodness, Alyona has taken it to the rafters, and has a ton of character in her version.

Man she is so good! You can see she's so comfortable singing that & her energy she pus into the song is outstanding! It's hard to explain but I really like the slight accent and emphasis she puts into the words. That transition at timeline 0:23 (didn't I make you feel...like you were the only man) was perfect! The accents I refer to are at 0:50 ("Woman" can be tough) and 1:45 Baby I cry all the "time". She's just great!

Alonya sounds and looks like my aunty, she started singing since 1969 in SE Asia, she used to do venues for GI’s on R&R from S. Vietnam during the war. This song was on her list. I played this video to her, she was amazed. Thanks. Alonya is great.

Ken , that was a great sound Janis, would say where is my bottle of Southern comfort! She would go through a whole bottle while on stage, she told me that's what gave her voice that raspy sound!!!! I believe her? We used to practice in the same hall !!!! Casper.
