A Merdeka Special
A group of friends find themselves in the depth of their country’s issues. Hate, racism and misdirected news everywhere they look.
But when the look they look closer, at themselves - what do they really see?
This Independence Day, we wanna remind our fellow Malaysians to always know who we are, where we came from and always hold that close. No matter what happens around us.
Selamat Hari Merdeka everyone!
Special Thanks To:

your intro was what I used to call my friends. I used to call my friend India, even though I'm Indian. We would act angry, but end up laugh hard. We're not Malay, Chinese or Indian. We're Malaysian and thats all that matters.

Thank you for such an amazing piece. I'm a Malay who teaches at a Chinese dominated college and because of this I have been accused "tak ingat bangsa", "tak nak tolong kaum sendiri" and the likes. This clip soothes my heart. I don't see my students as people if different race but fellow Malaysians who someday might do good for the nation. Racism... I seriously don't get it. So thanks again for this amazing clip.

TBH, this year MERDEKA x rasa pun macam MERDEKA. The patriotism is fading off man. All the other things such as racism, corruption and hating each other are on the rise. I m really glad i was raised with a Malays and Chinese. Even though kita org maki hamun each other we knew what we were saying. I have Malay, chinese and indian friends from school to burger stalls, futsal and even at work. They're really cool man. What actually corrupting people? It is the authorities, the government! Don't provoke racial issues. We know who we are :)

KEVIN CHRISTOPER yea I'm totally get you but maybe we think the govt be like "yea lets tear them apart so they can't fight us" yes i thought about that but again if we are not being stereotypes, do you think there will be any racial issues among us? like the low yat case recently, if all malay be like "yeah he's stealing why should i help him" do you think there will be any racial issues? no because its not about malay and chinese, its about customer and the seller. so in the end, its our faults

I got Malay frens , they used to say hey u babi , I smile and I replied them u juga babi la , they laughed and we had lunch together and sembang all day long . Truly Malaysians won't get offence by those words that nowadays politicians treat them as sensitive . If we really know each other and be real to each other no things can tear us apart from being united as a nation =) .Happy Merdeka guys !

I think this video would apply to many countries that have so many races. Like mine, Indonesia. My country always have this same issues. Like the race and religion differences, also with you the Malaysians. Sometimes I always wondering if why we always fight each others as countries, talking about our own capabilities and mock others. This video is one of a great example how friendship would destroy the barriers. Good vids man!

I believe this video has touched the hearts of those studying abroad like me. Sometimes we are all too consumed with work and life, and we tend to see that grass is always greener on the other side. But, what we didn't know was, whenever we are on the greener side, we will always miss home no matter what. Job well done with this video, it is times like this when fellow Malaysians need to stand strong together. Selamat Hari Merdeka, Malaysia.

Keep up on doing good videos! Good job guys. Last but not least, Selamat Hari Merdeka 🇲🇾❤️

Well bloody done mate. I was born in Malaysia, grew up in New Zealand and now live in Australia. It's great to see our generation move on from the crap of our past and still maintain our culture. I'm on the outside looking in to my country of birth, but I'm glad to see that in time things will be, sweet as! This made my day
