Synopsis::
‘Janmantar’ is Minati’s story of her present and past life and how her past life ruins her present one. Minu discovers one day that her neighbor’s room is filled with her paintings. Her curiosity leads her to his house. It’s gradually revealed that Ashish, the painter was in love with a girl named Kabi who resembled Minu. But, due to caste differences Minu’s family didn’t accept their relationship and she committed suicide on her wedding day and their love story ended tragically. Ashish is convinced that Minu is actually his Kabi who has taken re-birth. But, Minu is not ready to accept it. Ashish falls seriously ill after Minu behaves rudely with him. She doesn’t go to meet him despite several requests from Nidhu da, Ashish’s servant and care taker. Suddenly Minu is recalls her past life and she realizes that she is actually Kabi. She rushes to meet Ashish but unfortunately he dies. Minu loses her mental balance and is admitted to a mental asylum where she commits suicide.
