- Sinner the Winner! 🥕 - Sinner is so good mentally now. Even down 1-5 in the second set tiebreaker he comes back wins 6 points in a row and clinches the set! - We knew it would be a battle of groundstrokes but Rublev was just outgunned. - Sinner served so well and had no break points against him. - Looking forward to Sinner vs Djokovic next. Sinner beat Djokovic twice in November 2023 so he has the confidence but this is Novak’s court where he hasn’t lost since 2018.

Jannik is on another level right now. He's displaying that innate ability to raise his game in the clutch that all champions have. If he plays this way against Djokovic, he beats him and then Alcaraz for the Australian Open title. He wasn't fazed when he was down 5-1 in the tiebreak. That was Andrey's best chance in the match, and when he lost the tiebreak, you could see the air go out of him.

If Sinner can develop a strong mental mindset that is unwaivering, much like Djokovic, and improves his net skills, he has all the potential to reach rank 1.

Rublev is not better than the top 4, but not lower than the rest of the players. He is a perfect no.5 in the world. He can seldom beat one of those top four. His game is a joy to watch.

Its seems the reason sinner won this match in straight sets is because rublev was exhausted and this is why it is so important to win your early rounds fast. Rublev played a 5 setter against a non seeded player in round 1 and sinner hasn't dropped a set. Rublev could've won this match because he's playing really well but sinner had so much more gas in the tank

Excuses, even if Rublev didn’t go through those sets he would’ve still lost.

@@ultrafrost-2774 I didn't say the reason Rublev lost this match was that he was tired I said the reason he lost in straights was that he was tired

Losing a 7-point tie-break after being up 5-1 is very uncharacteristic in the ATP. That's more WTAesque. This has nothing to do with being exhausted or not.

Thank you very much for providing highlights/recap. One bit of feedback. For those who don't want to be spoiled, the thumb nail images often spoil who wins. Can a more spoiler friendly one be used?
