Feel bad for Baez, who did not do much wrong, but seeing Sinner ruthlessly demolish an opponent's game like that foreshadows what he will become as a future n.1 of the game, likely in a relentless multi-year rivalry with Alcaraz. Can't wait!

Sinner is redefining big man tennis. When you can move, hit as big, and be as precise as he is you create a rhythm that's so hard to compete with. He quite literally just overpowers and outpaces other players.
@Ivan_Mireles
@Ivan_Mireles 4 ай бұрын
Totally agree, he is in total control of the rhythm of the point and then he just decides to finish it on a comfortable shot.

Ah yes, that Sinner artillery gearing up early Smooth. One key to his balance is how he gets ahead of the situation. I enjoy watching other players on tour - Mannarino's craftiness, Medevedev's depth, Dimitrov's attacking (as of recently), Djokovic's backhand placement, Alcaraz's creativity and speed in impossible situations. But I think Sinner's method and play really is the future and I hope he can keep it. Everyone overextends from time to time, but you don't see him get caught very often.

I watched the whole match but even these highlights are reflective of what was going on. Baez was not just hitting well, he was hitting beautifully. Aggressive, lots of angles, and more than a few showy winners that you wouldn’t be surprised to see Alcaraz or Sinner make. Unfortunately, Sinner had the answers for everything that day and then some. I hope Baez feels proud of his performance and, honestly, I think it’s Sinner’s time. I hope he goes on to win the whole thing!

Congrats to Jannik.. i was mocked when I commented that him and carlos will be the next big 3 after I saw him and carlos play against each other when they were in the Junior years. Baez actually played well even if the score does not reflect that, his shot placement is just too easy for Jannik to return with ease and power.

Sinner is the only player remaining in the AO who hasn’t dropped a set. And he’s crushing his opponents in each set. Absolutely incredible. Tough draw for Baez to get Sinner in the third round. 6:10-6:15 was one of multiple highlights where Baez played good tennis, but Sinner was better. The reach to hit those volleys was insane
