Hi Helen! As a fellow perfectionist and reader, I wanted to share a book I’m reading (recommended by a therapist). It’s called The Perfectionist’s Guide to Losing Control. It’s written by a woman who was doing in-house therapy at Google and other highly successful companies full of…highly successful perfectionists :) I’ve been loving it because my brain works a lot like yours (backing into the time you need to start baking haha) and this author talks about perfectionism as a strength instead of something you need to “fix” about yourself. And she talks about ways to use it in a way that keeps you healthy. Just wanted to share from one perfectionist to another! ❤

Another perfectionist who is not wanting to fight the tendency, just find ways to make life easier by being able to let go of things that are not worth keeping on doing. The Bullet Journal Method helps me to sift through the information that I track and analyze in my Stalogy b6 notebook to find patterns for the doctors to help identify what is happening in my changing body systems. This is helpful for me because it allows me to focus on what is important and valid and valuable to keep tracking. But also not doing too much.

Thank you Helen! These are probably my favorite videos of yours besides the journaling vlogs! ❤️I was wondering for a video idea if you could do a flower doodles tutorial? I know it’s random but I can never doodle realistic and pretty flowers without them looking like big blobs after and your flowers that you draw in your planners are always so gorgeous!!❤😂😅😊

You know, I’ve been binging Cal Newport, Re-reading his entire book catalogue and listening to his podcast and taking detailed notes. His work is varied, but the latest stuff about deep work and productivity is really helping me. Like about how to get a grip over your work and work with intention not slave away over work constantly. Perhaps some of his concepts would be helpful to you, in case you are interested :)

Half-way talking points: 1. YES I would like to see you get 4 weeks from one kit. The most I have tried is 3.😊 2. I want to screenshot your scallion pancake recipe to try. I think it might be similar to types of pajeon in South Korea. 3. I give you permission to PLAY more. I admire your hard work and wish I was as motivated and as industrious as you at 15. I studied hard but didn't think about starting a business. I was boy obsessed I think. 😅 4. I started looking for moments of delight each day. I stole the idea from a guy I heard on This American Life. My life can be difficult at times. Finding something delightful in each day and recording it helps. I go back and read them sometimes. 5. ❤ Shay

Love your videos and watching how your planning system works. I’ve tried the cousin twice now and failed both times. It’s just too much for me as my schedule doesn’t change much. I used to bullet journal for years. Life has been stressful the last couple so I switched to pre-printed planners. What’s working well this year is using a hobonichi weeks(for planning) and a moleskine daily planner(for journaling). So far I’ve been able to manage those two and I’m really liking the system. I can try different spreads in the weeks which satisfies my urge for variety. But the preprinted pages make it easier when life is hard during certain periods.
