Happy New Year everyone! So excited to bring you my January reset ✨ I feel like there is so much pressure online for "monthly resets" to be a very productive/full house clean/GYST thing and while it can be that, I like to view it as a form of self care. I love to sit in my PJS on the couch on the last day of the month and spend some time reflecting & prepping for the month ahead. It has evolved into a cozy way to spend time with myself and do my favorite things like talking about books, finance & journalling. It's been SO beneficial for my mental health and also at the end of the day it's just fun to me. To brainstorm what products I loved this month, reflect, talk with Matt about how our relationship was that month etc. So with that being said, I hope you find a way to make welcoming a new month fun (not always productive) this year. xo Carter

Happy New Year Carter! Thank you so much for your monthly resets, was really looking forward to this, after your Vlogmas week. I've loved every video you've put out this week and it has truly helped me brainstorm and plan out how I want my new year to go. I always give myself a little bit of grace to get my goals together since my birthday is in late January (the 27th) and it allows me the time to think about how I want to set myself up for my next year of life and the new year, instead of starting off the year in a rush. You truly create that comfort and support that it's okay to move at your own pace. You have really helped me with learning to make smaller attainable lists each month to help me get through the last year and I can't wait to see what you accomplish this year. Manifesting the 100k subscribers soon for you. 🥰

I've been watching your monthly resets for a while but this is the first time that I'm going to be doing one myself which I'm stoked about. really enjoyed the reminder that you don't have to start attacking everything on January 1 - I'm trying hard to break out of my perfectionism mindset and remind myself that it's all about progress not perfection. I also love the monthly resets because you make them cozy and casual and include your favourites, which I miss and brings me back to old school KZfaq. happy new year Carter! looking forward to another year of your content! 💌 xoxo

Happy New Year! 1) love the cup. 2) makeup and hair on point. 3) I am so with you on the “perfect morning routine.” I worked with my therapist to come up with 5 little things that make me feel good in the morning that I should aim to do on work days but, even then, I can’t bring myself to do them on the weekends. I’ve come to terms with the fact that a “perfect routine” is a myth. We can all do great even without it.

Hey Carter, Happy new year! I’ve been watching your videos from some time now and you’ve been so monumental in my personal finance/budgeting money journey, especially as a fellow Ontarian. Thank you as always for being so candid about mental health, as you are helping many people by sharing your story. Have you ever tried a sun lamp in the winter time?
@CarterSullivan
@CarterSullivan 6 ай бұрын
Yes! It didn't work for me but it has worked wonders for others! I think for me because I suffer from depression in general and SAD and it worsens in the winter that the lamp doesn't necessarily work for me but if you or someone who has SAD it can work great!

Radical acceptance has helped me with sad so much! Instead of being upset about snow I go out with our dogs and play in it. I also embrace just doing cozy things inside while it’s cold out or going swimming at the gym because it feels like a summer activity. Definitely come March though I’m like okay I am really ready for spring lol but it’s helped me so much compared to past winters where I just hated everything. I’m even looking forward to snow this year

They are hilarious and wonderful, but quite specific so dont be afraid to google. For example Waitrose is a fancy supermarket and Taste the Difference is an expensive ownbrand supermarket line of food x

Hello! I am trying to pick out a spreadsheet for my budget this year - yes I am getting a late start. However, I wanted your videos from last year and you have changed your spreadsheet. Can you share what you like about your new vs. old. Why the change - did the old not meet your needs anymore? I was liking the one you used last year but am now second guessing myself.

I didn't know that shop was coming out with a new one! I'd like to see the new 2024 sheet since I follow the same sheet as you. Thanks for mentioning it btw! I get tripped up on tracking when use money from sinking fund or EF in the sheet. Do you just do a negative log entry for those or do you do like accounting style and do a debit and credit line item to balance out? Thanks and Happy New Year!
@CarterSullivan
@CarterSullivan 6 ай бұрын
I actually don't typically track using money from a sinking fund or EF, just personal preference since I've strayed from tracking every little thing but I do think it just depends on the person!! If I were to do it I would just put the amount you used in income & then the expense so it evens out. So for example if you used $500 from your vacation sinking fund for a flight I'd put $500 in income as "sinking fund" then the flight for $500 as an expense so it all evens out!

i really think you should take an ASL class taught by a deaf person if you are hoping to learn sign language to be able to communicate with deaf people. There is a lot of misinformation out there from hearing people and there are things you can only learn from the deaf community

Not to be TMI lol but I have heard you mention you have IBS a few times. You should definitely get further testing done- I thought I had IBS for a decade but turns out I have celiac's disease. It's been 4 months of no gluten for me (I also only eat plant based food but that's been for some time and that helped alot too) and I am literally a changed person (I've had this my whole life so I never realized how bad it was making me feel). It affected almost every area of my health (anxiety, fatigue, gastro, brain fog, random stuff like tongue ulcers and skin rashes) and the only remaining issues I still have is some gastro but my dr said that's normal because of how long I went undiagnosed.

I appreciate you sharing this but all is well over here! I've had tons of testing over the years and luckily no major food sensitivities or any further further testing needed! I do keep this channel free from internet diagnosis and medical talk as I have pretty bad health anxiety and that's just a boundary I've set in place to ensure my wellbeing online. I'm very lucky that I don't have any major food sensitivities and can stomach gluten and dairy totally fine! But so happy you finally were able to figure it out for yourself and get some answers! ❤️
