The tax thing is according to the province. He should mention his province let’s compare with others. Tax is not same in all provinces.

Canada guy : Their is some misrepresentation on the Capital Gains Tax (CGT). You are not paying 60% of the gains to the Govt. You are only subjecting 60% of it to tax. Let's assume your marginal tax rate is 35%, so what you will pay is the 35% of the 60% which is 21% . Therefore what you pay is actually 21% of the gain. People should ensure they give the right information.

I don’t even believe anything he said. Claimed to be a HR director but cannot differentiate between capital gains tax inclusion rate increase with tax rate. Even the CPP 2 he made reference to amounts to an additional c$188 annually. Even his story about indigenous Canadians being exempt from tax deductions is wrong. Tax exemption is applied on income generated from the reserves. I’m not even a HR person but his analogy is not correct.

Income Tax in the US follows progressive patterns or methods... It follows thresholds and bands methods. This means that, for example, if you earn 100k, it is not taxed in one lump sum at higher band. It is gradually in stages in bands and thresholds... Ire o - ✌️n❤

Why didn’t he stay in Nigeria or go back when he was asked to clean period? Yet he said he opened restaurants in South Africa and Nigeria. That means his efforts paid off. So what’s the problem here? Why does it seem this channel is now dedicated to disparaging & demonizing people who chose to leave Nigeria just to earn enough income to maintain their dignity? Many abroad return to create jobs, not only in Nigeria but globally and we employ Nigerians. A lot of people who sit in Nigeria disparaging people who chose to leave work mostly in government where they take bribes, steal money then turn around to send their children abroad while saying they’re too big to leave Nigeria. Try being Igbo graduate of any discipline in Nigeria and tell me what job opportunities you have short of looking for somewhere to sell things. It’s now catching up to everyone including Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba in whose custody Nigeria’s leadership has been for past 50years. Everyone is suffering. Let’s see who’ll suffer most.

You are the one being needlessly defensive on this matter because no one is demonizing anything. It looks like you watched the video but interpreted something else based on the prior negative feelings you have for the channel or topic. The man narrated his experience and was happy with the overall outcome. He also gave useful advice to others travelling abroad at an older age.
