i also want to add that they got a lot of good pain relief patches! they got the OG salonpas one (there are a lot of hisamitsu's patches that are only sold in japan) to more of gel type that doesn't hurt your skin when taken off. i like the one from LION (can't remember the name) but it has both cold/hot patches and the hot one is nice for period cramps. roihi-tsuboko one is also popular but it can be easily purchased outside japan. i will be visiting japan after 7 years this oct so pretty excited to stock up my jp pain relief patches 😂

Which drugstore would you recommend in Tokyo?
@gorillasinheels
@gorillasinheels 11 ай бұрын
Matsumoto Kiyoshi is the one that is most popular and most commonly seen. This is the one that I usually visit. However there are other drugstores as well which are just as good and sell similar products.

It is zeria viewclear. Note that the packaging is entirely in Japanese but if you google “zeria viewclear vitacontact” you can see what it looks like.

Going to Japan for the first time soon. The list is helpful of what to get in Japan (beside food and snack). May I know how to claim the tax rebate (tax free price) in Japan? Just show the cashier your passport? Or need to claim it elsewhere? Thanks in advance.
@gorillasinheels
@gorillasinheels Жыл бұрын
Hello :) for Japan, the wonderful part is that you pay the tax free price upon showing your passport. You do not have to claim separately. Enjoy your trip to Japan and a great time! Looking forward to hearing about your drugstore loot 😊😊

I am new to your channel. My daughter recently went to Japan and brought some of the drug store products that you recommend. The problem is where can we get some more if we like the products. Do you know if we order the items through the store in US the quality would be the same? Or do you have any trusted websites that we can buy it on line and get Japan quality. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much, I hope your daughter had a wonderful time in Japan. 😊 It really depends on the product, you can find some of them on Amazon although there is definitely a mark up vs Japan prices. I would also make sure that the source of the products are from Japan as sometimes there might be counterfeits. Hope this helps 🙏

Where do you buy your products when you are out of certain items? Do you know any Japan cosmetic store here in US that carries drugs stores or luxury Japan products? I know there are quite a few korean cosmetic store here but I can't find one that carries Japanese products.

I always stock up a few items for the products that I cannot do without to make sure I have enough. I’m sorry but I am not familiar on which sites stock genuine Japanese products in the US!

For my own personal use, I definitely did some research before purchasing. And you should too, and do seek medical professional advice if that helps!

I loved everything you showcased here (except for those ridiculous 'anti-social-face-curtain-security blankets' known as face masks-- I'm passionately against normalising them). I'm going to Japan later this year so you reminded me of some real gems I need to stock up on. Thank you!

@@gorillasinheels I discovered a limited edition hair oil by Uka called 'Glamorous Windy Lady'. Amusing name (evoking high society flatulence, rather unintentionally I'm guessing) but it smells gorgeous-- oh and it was 24 quid at Isetan's Narita Airport concession as opposed to 40 quid on Space NK's website (or wherever it was that I saw it here in England). So many things are just a little cheaper in Japan and if you're doing a lot of stocking up, these savings certainly tally up. Wahey! I love your channel. Such fun, so inspiring.

@@gorillasinheels Ooh, Akihabara Duty Free concession at Narita Airport had these unbelievable Nikon compact binoculars for the equivalent of 155 GBP. We didn't buy them as binoculars was not something even remotely on our shopping list, but upon my return to London I did a quick UK google shop search and found that Selfridges sell this model too...for 499 pounds. Some things really ARE much more affordable in Japan. Also fuel is cheaper than in the UK and our hire care in Ishigaki Island was only 30 pounds A DAY, including all the full insurance cover. UNREAL. Anyhow, bye and I love your channel!!

Thank you for sharing!! I just saw this comment, sorry for the delay in reply. Ahhh yes Japan is heaven when it comes to electronics. Nikon is a Japanese brand after all! I also think the weakening yen has made prices in Japan more attractive for tourists. 😊😊
