The Daddy Motor Works Toyota GR Yaris G16 swapped AE86 Levin hatchback drift car is nothing short of a fabrication overload! EVERYTHING has been updated or modified in some original way to create a truly unique end result that has the looks and horsepower to back it up!
A HUGE thank you to Oto-san at Daddy Motor Works for taking the time to show the finer details of the car and shop. Please show him some love on IG or his channel below. There's more videos of the build on his channel without much talking (no Japanese, no problem).

Really appreciate you liking the video and sharing the channel!

Blown away at the ingenuity, dedication and skill of Oto-san. What a car he's created! Thanks for going in to such detail with him - I'm glad he was not shy about answering all your questions, because they would be all the questions I'd want to ask but would be too afraid of either revealing secrets or being in his hair for too long! Everywhere you look on that car is something cool AF!
@BRICKHOUSESPL

For sure, he really took it to another level! And I appreciate that sentiment. I have similar thoughts and try to be as considerate as possible when doing these interviews; taking time out of his day (or any shop I visit) is taking away from their productive time (how they make their money). So I try to cover all the bases - schedule the shop visit before hand with a rough idea of how long it will be, ask what I can show/not show, try to be thorough to show a deeper level of things but also stick to the schedule, and then they get to preview and make final edits before the video goes live on the channel. I should probably put a disclaimer of sorts in these videos so people don't just show up to shops expecting full access, but you're 100% right - respecting other people's space/time is super important.

@BRICKHOUSE SPL ah I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply anything. I think I worry about weird stuff when I interact with people and might be projecting. In any case, please keep up the good work! These small shops in Japan do some incredible things and we hear so little about them here in the US. Just caught up with the rest of your vids too - you're the guy that I want to hear from because you get all the details instead of glossing over things like everyone else does!

i understand like half of the words in the video, but the sheer amount of custom/fabricated/one off things in one car is just stunning, and also the looks, the panel work around the rad and the fuel cell, simple and elegant

He really seems to be focused on the one off type projects. Not the production side. It seems like maybe the oil pan and steering modifications and then gearbox, etc make this a HUGE swap to make a bolt on kit for. Maybe in a few year time with more on the road and more aftermarket options for the platform to help fill in the gaps.

I love that this dude is A) willing to admit he uses Chinese knock off Ebay parts but puts his own flavor to em & B) shows you can still be unique even with a car built as much as 86's are. The pie cut intercooler piping is literally FILTHY lol. Looks so sick.

This is what a successor of the AE86 should look like. 1.6L turbo with 6 speed manual. It is a dream setup for every AE86 owners out there. The closest they got was an Altezza swap. But that engine was big. A compact engine like this makes a whole lot of sense. I wish Toyota would make a Trueno or Levin again with this kind of setup. Not the mutant that is GT86 or GR86. Else just aim for GR Yaris and you have a mutant Supra, AE86 & Celica STxxx in a compact car.
