From this video, we can finally understand that karate is not a sport, even if there is point competition, it is just rules and its competition, they actually always hold back which is their power control In reality or mma rules, you can see how they can really perform

What are you expecting out of sport karate at an event like the Olympics, matches where everyone is trying to beat each other to a pulp? But yes, its extremely boring to watch, kind of more fun to compete in. Go watch a Kyokushin match if you want to see full contact sparring.

I'm practicing kyokushin for more than 10 years, i know it's more brutal, cool, how karate should be.. but thats it, until i discover more deeply in karate n knowing that kyokushin is a artificial karate, n okinawan karate is the real karate, but in the end there it has separated ways which is karate sport & traditional, i agree when u said karate sport is not a karate, it has no budo at all, but i think it's dffrent with sakumoto school here.. they train for sport but also for traditional way, i visit his dojo 3 years ago, n they practicing for kumite as well

@@josebuenrostro5639 In the Olympic karate kumite event, nobody was using any of those combat poses to actually fight their opponent. And I think we can all agree kumite is probably closer to a real fight than practicing kata. If practicing kata was actually useful for fighting, some of the same people who compete in the kata event should be competing in the kumite. But the truth is kata is not actually useful for fighting. It's karate's version of wushu's fancy dancing.
