That is really horrible that KZfaq has been screwing you guys. Your content is really well thought out and articulated. The viewers can tell a lot of effort goes into each video and the results are top tier. I lost my job during covid, but as soon as I get a new one I will definitely be joining the patreon.

One thing I do want to note, a lot of autistic people who “can’t” communicate are unable to do so because they were never taught. A lot of neurotypical people assume speaking is the only form of communication worth anything, but then neglect any other method for said people like writing or sign language or speech assistance technology. It’s less that we’re trapped by circumstance, and more by (often inadvertent) design by neurotypical family members. I got lucky, my autistic traits were maskable. Lots of autistic traits aren’t and needing different communication is a hurdle way too many people are forcing to figure out how to overcome not heir own.

This year's put everyone through the wringer, and just like the characters in Japan Sinks 2020, we've had to decide what's truly important, in a world where change and adversity seems amplified and never ending. Bro I finish to watch inuyasha and I'm still waiting for the video about season 3-8. I started watching it because of you guys when the video first came out and I finish like 2 or 3 months ago, anyways like the videos and thank for recommending so much good animes. Dude, I just wanna say that watching your videos is always uplifting for me. It's not just the fact that you delve deep into a topic that I already have interests in, but you always paint the message clearly and give parallels that correlate to life. While I don't relate to every issue brought up, the ones that do hit home and truly make me think. I enjoyed the video, keep up the good work.

I actually like Japan Sinks a ton. But it gets a 7/10 because while it's gorgeous and has a good message about what a country is (I loved how they rebuilt), Animation was great, story was pretty good. But the character development just killed me there at the end. 10/10 vid though as usual! Getting some of the background and the thematic analysis was awesome. :3

Thanks for the video man. I recently saw the anime myself and was incredibly moved by how the series treated hope in such despair. I've been going through an existential crisis and the show helped me a good deal. I'm glad you guys still make videos and please keep doing it as you are all very talented. Japan Sinks 2020 overall is a story about moving forward with life and not to be afraid of change.

Honestly loved the show as well. Binged it all in one day and was hit with the emotional ebbs and flows. In the end, it hit me with reality but optimism that though everything is fragile and uncertain, there is always light at the end of any storm.

I loved this anime. I finished it in one sitting. It was so fast paced. Great video breaking down each character 👌

Honestly my favorite anime of all time. The first viewing was an absolutely harrowing experience and Haruo's death hit me harder than almost any other death in fiction, I was rooting for him the most. There is so much subtext that it can almost be faulted as being too dense for its own good. You could probably make a 1+ hour long video with just the things you had to leave out. I feel like a lot of people who give it flak really did come in expecting something completely different, which is a shame. I hope it does get some more universal praise someday, it absolutely deserves it! Also this video was wonderful, absolutely gonna support this channel

I've heard a few reviews of Japan Sinks, but you're the only ones who talked about the autistic child getting killed in a way that didn't mock the scene. Not that other people were making fun of autism, but that they felt the death was so out of place and ridiculous or that it seemed like it was an almost slap stick comedy kind of moment even though it clearly wasn't comedic. But you gave great analysis and insight on that and the rest of the movie, glad to have heard your thoughts on it.

Bonsai Pop I fucks wit y’all heavy. You fellas are one of the only few channels I enjoy, and was stoked that your samurai champloo video was recommended. I actually viewed this series twice. Also, got my mom to watch this with me we watched it all one Sunday, she actually enjoyed it and thought it was really good and always says how anything can happen and people who are born healthy don’t appreciate it and can be so careless and it can be over in an instant. Honestly this Anime, was crazy. From my experiences in life and being placed In situations where life is a very fragile thing and is easy to betray oneself by not appreciating what one has, and taking it for granted. it isn’t hard to loose it all and not even realizing how fortunate one can be until it’s over and it’s all said and done with nothing to do but drown in ones misconception. The beauty of the moment is the beauty sadly lost which can make someone wince at reality allow one to catch their breath and realize the ‘Now’ and see the real lies of the smoke and mirrors and begin to take small steps in improving the quality of their wellbeing for oneself and your loved ones. Seeing how everyone sacrifices themselves in order to allow the opportunity to continue living, in this series hit me in the feels because I’ve seen the struggle of my parents working hard and putting themselves secondary. I was a fucking brat growing up sometimes and now that they’re old I just wanna be with them all the time, and be a better person and show them it wasn’t all in vain. Japan 2020 intensified the awareness I already have on life and made me really think about how everything has led till now and to cherish and truly make the most of it. If anyone reads this thank you for your time. Plus that rap part made me cringe. ( well I watched it in English)

The first episode broke me. The fact that everyone played off the first earthquake as a normal one without knowing what’s coming next is so heartbreaking. It was all so sudden.

I had no idea about japanese lacquer until this video, but it was bananas cool to find out that I was half-way there with acknowledging that the "damage" my cats delivered onto my furniture which I've always been fine with and love it whenever they put they're mark on our materials. Especially now that I know about this newfound lore for myself. Regardless of how drunk I am at the moment, the japanese have such an amazing point of view of material history. Especially as an italian who appreciates architecture, it's so cool to see that kind of novelty with everyday items.

Glad you mentioned Bosnia. I am a former refugee migrant. I was born in Split, Crotia while my majority family left Bosnia during that time. Glad my father, mother, and rest of family members fleed or survived. However for some they never saw the next day. This is such an interesting take on a show that is recommending to watch on Netflix. I will take this recommended show. Japan 2020 sounds so contemporary and even how we look at the world from different perspectives.

Japan Sinks 2020 is not an anime that I would probably ever watch on my own, too much misery and gore for my tastes, but your thoughtful analysis and explanation of the plot has made me consider giving it a chance. I find a lot of the videos on this channel have that effect on me lol

As of 4:00am 9/9/20: KZfaq appears to be screwing you harder than ever; this video has less than 8,000 views after being out for almost 4 days! I just watched this one myself. With work and 3 kids, it can be difficult to find time to watch the tv shows and KZfaq videos I like. And I guess I must be lucky with KZfaq, I have been subscribed to you guys since the channel started, and they always recomend your videos when they come out. I've never understood the algorithm.

I hadn’t heard anything about Japan Sinks before checking it out. It was the most pleasant surprise I’ve had all year when it comes to anime. I love movies and shows that realistically show what real people might go through when going through something so horrible. About the BLM stance and loss of viewers: maybe there are subscribers that stopped watching after hearing about your stance on this. Hear me out. Yes, there are people that will disagree with you. BLM is a divisive movement to a lot of people. Both sides seem to be arguing past eachother. The worst part about the political climate is that everything is so polarized that people view anyone with a differing opinion as evil or a bad person. There are also a lot of people who are just tired of being barraged by politics in everything they see. At the end of the day you have to do what you feel is morally right. If the fallout is worth it to you, then good for you. I won’t stop watching or supporting you because I disagree with your politics. I personally believe that most people are trying to create a net good in the world, even when others think they’re evil. Also you’re making some of the best anime critiques that the English speaking world has ever seen. I hope I’m not sounding like an asshole or an unhinged racist. It’s hard for anyone to even mildly criticize BLM without them being branded as a hateful person. Anyway I’m a huge fan of your channel. Almost every video you make either turns me on to a new anime or gives me greater appreciation for the anime I’ve seen.
