Japanese Bean-Throwing Festival (節分) With subtitle
せつぶん February 3rd is a scary day for Japanese kids.
Because a demon visits their house and they have to throw beans toward the demon.
Back then I didn't know the meaning of all this but now i understand why Japanese people started to do this 700 years ago.
Today I will share an amazing Japanese tradition with you and explain why we do this!!
I hope you like it!

In Iran the last Tuesday night before the new year (the first day of astronomical spring), we set up 7 pits with fire and jump over them. We do this to get rid of any bad energies and to receive livelihood from the fire. It has its roots in the ancient religion of Zoroastrianism.

Very interesting facts about setsubun... and a cute oni too!! In parts of Mexico we have something like that to call for good luck at the end of the year. After cleaning out the house, only the entryway remains. All the "bad luck", "bad feelings" and such are "swept" outdoors. Some follow the customs of the Catholic Church and spread Holy Water over the entryway, protecting that way the entrance to the home. Others spread a bit of salt that is said to gather bad vibes, sprinkle it with water, then sweep it away..

In Italy carnival will start soon. People will go around dressed with costumes and making parades and celebrations and a mess on the road. That is fun actually. It's the same carnoval celebrated in Brasil but here it's a bit different because any kind of costume is fine...and of course there are also some cities with very typical costumes, like the ones in Venice. Carnival in Venice is unique and worth seeing at least once in life. I go there almost every year :P

Really good those video that you show your culture. The bonus of this one is how natural the event is being recorded, like it happens as it should happen, it's not forced or faked. ミクありがとうございました!

In England at midnight on New Year’s Eve we open the back door and send my dad out the front door with salt and bread. He has to knock to be let in when the clock strikes midnight. It’s to let the old year out and welcome the new year in 😂😊
