Aoba was the most fun ship to play for me . Myoko turned up to be quite disappointing for me . Most of the firepower is at the rear and torpedo arches are awful. Finally in the next month I will get the takao. I hope it's not a disappointment.

Enjoyed Ibuki with a speed build, but usually ended up as a ‘hero or zero’ scenario since results largely depended on enemy spawn. Instant death is never any fun, but it is exhilarating to run the flank and catch folks in a pincer. Ibuki has the speed and fire power to make it work. Win rate remained high so I never really changed it.

I had my best highest damage in an Ibuki. Everyone I torpedoed sailed in a straight.line. 123k 22 torp hits

From the thumbnail of the video I initially thought that you were reviewing the little boat next to the dock. I was thinking a Tier I review or some such thing.

One thing i have observed is Japanese lines are so agressive but easy to counter if enemy knows what they are doing if enemy ignore you then its going to be their biggest mistakes cause in history as well Japanese were so agressive in battle in terms of technology and firepower

The AP on the IJN heavy cruisers is actually surprisingly good. It has lower pen than other heavy cruisers so you still get full pens at under 6km. I use it against destroyers at all ranges except when under 4km.

It depends on the ship, surprisingly. It's definitely useful against DDs, although I ended up having quite some success with Zao as well against harder targets.

Yeah I sometimes use the AP against cruisers like mino or jinan

Zao, Ibuki, Takao have great AP against the likes of Smolensk, Colbert, Austin, RN CLs, Chapayev, any cruiser

I usually play at range, start fires and dump torps right before Im detected, then kite kite kite until undetected and repeat. This strat has worked pretty well for me.

@@calebb6161 that’s my bread and butter with the Ibuki too-which is my second favorite ship after the Zao. I think most people get frustrated before they figure out how to avoid getting shattered in Japanese cruisers. But they are fast enough to usually keep a good distance between you and whoever you’re up against. If I’m undetected I keep the guns silent until my torpedoes are to close for the target to dodge and then try to set fires and hope the other guy wastes his damage control kit before he gets torpedoed. Or set a fire after I’ve made him deal with flooding. I do usually try to capture as much as possible, but usually stay towards the edge so I can scoot if I have too. Im a bit under 50/50 for victories, but I’m close to 2 to 1 on sinking, so I would say I’m giving more than I get. The Zao is pretty similar, but just amped up.

Ibuki is a great ship! Was excited to get the Zao based on the great time in the Ibuki and Takao but have not done very well in it. Oh well maybe the play style, can't wait to see your review of the ship to either see what Im doing wrong or if its just flawed.

I was working on the ijn heavy cruiser line but gave up after aoba. May continue it sometime but not sure. Before this, I was like nope, but this made me 50 50. Guess time will tell

The Japanese Heavy CA line is all about learning to run and gun, start fires, dump the torps, and kite away until you become unspotted and repeat. This usually works unless harassed by a Aircraft Carrier.

IJN CAs are pure assault cruisers. They reward a more egoistic playstyle - you're not there to contest caps, hunt DDs, or give AA defence for your team, but purely to ambush targets and use the damage output potential. This is both their strength and their weakness - if the situation is right, and your team plays their roles, you can shine. But if you're forced to pick up the slack, things can often get dicey, since they're really not that well suited for that.

@@FunandGameswithTerry yeah, lots of my teammates just abandon their roles and I am forced to complete theirs. Looking at you shimakaze!!!! A lot of times the other players just abandon their flank and allow the enemy team to ambush us while we are no where near our cap. I think the heavy CAs would be good at that time. For the enemy team ofc….
