Japarrot!- Let's Learn Japanese

Japarrot!- Let's Learn Japanese

Күн бұрын

In this lesson, you’ll learn essential Japanese travel phrases for asking location, business hours, bus schedule, telling time and buying tickets through a fun story of Midori’s journey to Shiba Inu cafe!
In addition, you’ll also learn the usage of the particle ‘は’ as an indication of a contrast (when the particle がis replaced by the particle は) .
You can also download FREE worksheets & summary notes (*added on 16 Feb 2024) of this video lesson from here:
www.buymeacoffee.com/Japarrot...
www.buymeacoffee.com/Japarrot...
* I didn't mention how to say from 1 to 12 o'clock in the video, as it's more straightforward than minutes. Except for 4 o'clock (よじ), 7 o'clock (しちじ not ななじ) & 9 o'clock (くじ), other hours are just pronounced as 'number + 時(じ)👍
There are two main parts in this video: 1) Japanese Listening Practice with a story (without subtitles)
2) Listening the story with subtitles and explanations!
I hope this lesson will be helpful for you!

I actually understood most of the conversation even before the English explanation. Maybe not word for word , but the whole context I get it. The use of visual animation really helps me with comprehensible input.

with this video, i wrote down all of my inner translations as the no subtitles version of the story played. At the end, I was able to confirm what I correctly understood and (some words I correctly guessed due to easily comprehensible context) and learn now expressions/words I didn't quite get. I am very proud to say I understood about 85% but now I know that I need more practice with time and location words/conversations! Also I absolutely

3:47 I'm not a big fan of dogs. However, I really like shiba inu. ('wa' can replace 'ga' when highlighting the contrast of the statements; that's why here 'wa' daisuki) 4:44 Billie, do you like Japanese cuisine? 4:49 Yes, I like it. However, I don't really like sushi. 5:11 Where is the cafe? 5:19 It's next to the Sakura Station. 5:33 Is the Sakura Station close from here? 5:52 It's about 30 minutes by bus. ('de' particle indicates a means/a method) (about=kurai=gurai interchangeable) 6:25 It's a bit far, isn't it? 6:39 Until what time is the cafe (open)? 6:59 From what time is the cafe (open)? 7:07 It's probably open until around 6 o' clock. 7:11 It's 4:30 now. 7:26 What time does the bus come? The prefixes 'お' or 'ご' are sometimes attached to some nouns to make it sound polite. (e.g.) ご家族(かぞく) - referring to someone's family (polite) , お飲(の)み物(もの) - referring to someone's drink (polite)
