Back when I was living in Tokyo, my mom sometimes brought that kind of frozen pizza after work. A bit hard to chew, but since we were poor when we were there, it taste like premium pizza in our mouth!

Commented this before but I'll do it again, food designers exist. Their jobs is to beautify foods for advertising and packagings, using none edible items. The belief is humans eat with their eyes first, so these huge companies use this trick. Which is why when you open a frozen meal or even buy a burger at a restaurant, you're usually met with disappointment because food designers created something that wasn't real to begin with. Edit: Like those pizza advertisements with the long stretching cheese, that could actually be glue.

I watched a documentary on KZfaq about how they do it. They inject a syringe of water into the patties to make them look bigger than they actually are. So much science and art goes into the advertisements

Yeah like in burger they use toothpick to make the burger taller and in drinks like coke ads they spray water outside the cup.In pizza they mix glue and mozzarella and inject inside the pizza breaks many more

Good reviews. I remember I used to watch videos like this and then go and try new types of food and imagine I'm reviewing it like in the videos. The videos save the hassle and disappointment of actually trying these. Also this particular uploader's presentation quality is outstanding. No annoying voice or needless transitions. Just real, here it is, I'm opening it, I'm microwaving it, this is what it looks like. It's pure information, and presented in a sort of relaxing way.

Fun fact, there's food designers in charge of making the foods on packagings and advertisements look edible by using non edible items. People usually eat with their eyes first so brands lie to us, so they can sell their products. I never knew that job existed until I saw a video in my recommendations.

When I buy a frozen three cheese pizza, the three cheese refers to the fact there's like three shreds of cheese on the thing. Plus, if you microwave one of those things, even with the supposed "crisper tray," you're treated to the gummiest bread you've ever tasted.

I usually just make my own pizza. It’s actually really easy and there was a point in my life where I ate just pizza for dinner. I wasn’t able to see pizza without feeling sick after that... too much of a good thing, you know? But yeah, it’s also relatively inexpensive. Make sure to get a good yeast too, and don’t kill it, or the pizza will be nasty. Never eat raw flour, it’s not good for you. I usually put oil and garlic powder on my crust, you can also roll cheese into it. Much cheaper than buying pizza, and once you know how to make it you don’t really ever forget.

That sort of thing is far too time consuming to start from scratch. There's always the shortcuts of various kinds of pre-baked pizza crusts, or in a pinch something like a pita bread. Frankly, I do that a lot more frequently than buying the frozen ones. Though there is nothing nearly as good as take out. I live somewhere there are like 2 local places on every block and a Dominos that somehow does business with all the competition.

The pizza looks sad because when using a microwave, you can’t have the beep going off. According to studies, you have to stop the timer before it hits 0 for the best taste.

The most appetizing looking microwave meal was the first noodle bowl with the tempura shrimp. Everything else looked very soggy or dry. 😊❤

Maybe add a wet napkin into the microwave along with the pizza, it helps make the pizza moist. (Not on top of the pizza though the napkin will be absorbed by the cheese and you’ll have papery pizza)

The packaging of these makes so much more sense to what we have locally. Just a simple layer of tinfoil. Locally, frozen food has a cardboard sleeve, with an expensive extra layer on it to take the printing, and then a layer of plastic wrap, and then a plastic, or tin or cardboard box. It ends up being so expensive, I only buy it when I have unexpected guests overnight and need to feed them.

Unless you’re in a rural town and wanted snacks in the middle of the night, it’s not hard to find decent eats in Japan. There is really no need for frozen food that all look sad and soggy.

i really like to see instructions for "low"-powered microwaves. here in the US, everyone assumes you have an 1100watt oven, sometimes even telling you that only an 1100 watt oven will cook the item safely.
