Of course did you not see how the people handled the tsunami a few years back the Japanese society stood in line, waited their turn for the officials to help them did not throw one piece of trash down. These people are respectful in every sense of the word and I applaud them.

The little curled fern heads are in fact an edible fern called fiddleheads, they're available in Canada at a certain time of the year, you may well be able to find them in France, its a unique plant and not just any fern, and if not cooked correctly can be poisonous, so stick to your asparagus

The fern you ate, Fougère, is a Spring mania in Maine, Quebec, and the Maritime Provinces. We pick them along the riverbanks when they are a couple of inches high. They are delicious. They have to boil them to release the toxic chemicals. Many do a soft boil for 15 or 20 minutes with some salt pork or bacon. They can be blanched and frozen. The only fern that is edible here is the Ostrich fern. Many make sure they have some in the freezer, or canned for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
