What a wonderful bond there is between the chef , his staff , and the pupils . He may be employed by a separate company, but you can tell he genuinely cares for the well-being of the pupils . He was really mindful of the impact that food can have on the emotional , physical, and intellectual well being of the pupils. Being honest I was sold as soon as I saw it was a rugby playing school 😊😊😊😊😊❤😊 .

Those content creators who " sneak ", footage without permission are soon found out , and their reputation suffers .

ヒガシ卒業OBのアラフィフです。現在の校舎や食堂は綺麗で羨ましいです。私が在学中の校舎は汚く１クラス５５人の１７クラス有りました。当時の学食は現在の食堂とは全く異なりますが、昼休み前は猛ダッシュで食堂に行ったものです。確かＢ定食が２９０円でした。私が大好きな定食はから揚げにタルタルソースをかけたのを白飯大盛りにしてワシワシ食べたものです。今でもＢ定食の味は忘れないし、美化しすぎてるかもしれませんが、社会人になって、様々な美味しい物を食べた中でも、ヒガシのＢ定食はホントに美味しかったです。正しく青春の味です。汗臭い男子校で昔は担任の先生に頭を叩かれました。昔はスマホは無かったので、好きな他校の女子にラブレターを渡しました。見事にフラレました!😅在校生の皆さん、後悔のない学校生活を送ってください。

I wish I could say that I had such positive memories of school lunches in GB . However we were not given choice , and you were not permitted to leave the dining hall until your plate was empty . I am in my late 50's .

ヒガシ卒業OBのアラフォーです。私も先輩と同じく昔の校舎で学んでおり、1クラス45名程で確か20クラスありました。当時はA定B定が確か390円でした。定食だけでは足りず、オニ唐追加でタルタルと唐辛子を山のように掛けて食べたのは良い思い出です。私も社会人となって様々な美味しいものを食べましたが、ヒガシの学食の美味さは格別ですね。まさに青春の味です。我々の世代も先生方にシバかれていましたが、本当に誇りに思える学校です。ようやく皆が携帯を持ち出した頃で、他校の女の子にメールを送りまくってましたが間もなく共学になるとの事ですね。在校生の皆様、高校生の1日はかけがえのないとても大切な1日ですので、是非悔いのない学校生活を送ってください。

コメントありがとうございます。伝え忘れてました。在学中私達の時代は、昼休み迄お腹空くので、休み時間の度に食堂に菓子パンとリッチコーヒーを食べてました。そうそうＢ定食のから揚げは暗黙の了解でデミグラスソースを私はあえてタルタルソースにリクエストしていました。また、Ａ定食も有りました。値段は２５０円のワンプレートでした。朝の課外授業の前に食堂で１３０円のうどんとふりかけかけ放題の１３０円のどんぶり白飯を食べていました。学校生活で記憶に有るのは、体育祭と文化祭は２年おきに開催してました。校庭も今みたいに人工芝ではなく、土でした。確か3号線渡る前にすかいらーくが有って、渡ったらローソンがあり買食いしながら、直線の道路を歩いていました。私は大学を卒業後、地元福岡を離れ、関東に居ますが、キザな言い方ですが、就職で福岡空港から飛立つ時に心は博多に置いて来たつもり（都会には染まらないと言う意味）です。美化しすぎてごめんなさい。

well this seems like its not a normal high school since the chef did say they have a lot of athletes. in the US we have high schools that receive huge fundings because they have top notch sports programs like IMG. they probably receive great food to keep their players in great shape

For me Japan is the best country in the world, because the people are respectful, kind, serious and rigorous in everything they do and with humility too! It is the people who make the wealth of a country, if the people are good, the country will be too. I think that cuisine in Japan is essential for an active and productive population and for serving people.

Well it is indeed nice to live there but you have to take these factors into consideration too: -Toxic and very exhaustive work culture particularly in the big companies. -High cost of living particularly in highly urbanized areas. -A lot of people there are not very welcoming to foreigners if you are one. -A lot or most of them don't speak english.

Hmm I wouldn’t go that far. The oil that used to fry chicken is mostly soybean oil and the color is almost black. It’s been used for many times. I would agree it’s better than a lot of American high schools. However, it’s still highly carbohydrates food and very little fibers and vegetables

This is great too quality food. For those in USA saying how USA schools should do the same. Yes they should. But they can't for endless reasons. Think about it - Japan is a solid singular culture. They have barely any immigration. Anyone in USA making specialized menus would have tons of parents complaining about everything. Then the kids complaining and so on. The culture there, and the students there are totally different than what is going on here in USA.

If you observe closely, you'll notice there are no visibly obese children in the video. In Japan, people predominantly consume whole foods, with processed items being relatively rare. Even their vending machine Cokle are exceptionally expensive - I wonder if that's intentional to discourage purchases.

The quality of food does not vary too much from affluent schools to public schools since government has strict standard and guidelines of what has to be served and included to maintain nutrition. The gap is not much wider than in many other countries.

These are 5 star schools and almost every country have them the normal local schools and their food are very different some extremely healthy and tasty food while other have very low quality food.

Overall, Japanese schools have very high grade nutritious menu. This is because there is a strict standard and guidelines of what has to be included in school meals. There are not a big spread in quality like in many other countries between affluent, private or public schools.
