You may not have heard of him yet, but he's a global superstar. Yoshiki has become the first Japanese artist to be immortalized in cement at the TCL Chinese Theatre. abc7.com/yoshiki-tcl-chinese-...

Known about Yoshiki for over a decade from X-Japan glamrock band and his talent shows where young female musicians audition to become part of the band. He has been a great inspiration to many Japanese artists tgat have become successful international stars.

You think he looks flamboyant now? Check out the "visual kei" look his band X-Japan had in the '80s and '90s.

Oh I've heard of him alright. I'm an Australian sporting his bands tattoo. Brilliant music from a turbulent band. Yoshiki is kinda selfish and disliked by a lot of his former fans these days, he's got lots of issues not mentioned here, his former band doesn't like him very much for good reason. But also of course he is an outrageously talented lovable man at the same time. His entire history is fascinating.
@Megrez-Alberich10 ай бұрын
It was mostly Taiji who had a problem with Yoshiki, always criticizing him and going so far as to question his legitimacy as the band's leader. That's why he tried to cause a mutiny by talking the other members into rebelling against Yoshiki's leadership, which got him fired before he could cause irreparable damage...
@jasonnikolic10 ай бұрын
@@Megrez-Alberich Of course 2 sides to every story, I love Yoshiki as much as anyone but you are definitely glossing over the toxic parts of his personality. He is not perfect and I'm sure Yoshiki would agree he made many mistakes.
@Megrez-Alberich10 ай бұрын
@@jasonnikolic Yoshiki is definitely an egomaniac and a control freak. What I meant is that it was Taiji who was the most vocal about it. He thought that they were all underpaid and that Yoshiki was using them for his personal glory. Which is why he tried to convince Toshi, hide, and Pata to rebel against Yoshiki's leadership. But yes, it's a well known fact that during X-Japan's heyday, Yoshiki was an authoritarian who behaved like a spoiled brat, and who would throw tantrums if things didn't go his way. He's in his late 50s now, and I don't know if he still behaves like that. I've been an X-Japan fan since the early 90s; I was lucky enough to see them live in Paris and I even got Yoshiki's autograph, but so far the reunion has been a huge disappointment. I'm glad that Toshi and Yoshiki patched up their differences, though...

He’s been living in LA since the 80’s and X Japan is a Heavy Metal international phenomenon. Plus the Chinese Theatre doesn’t sound very “American” begin with. But, yeah, keep exposing your xenophobe ass.

All you need to do to get a star on the wall of Fame is pay the amount required and a certain amount of people required for confirmation. You haven't noticed how many non-actors, movie people are getting stars ?
