Nest Box Observation 2024 Ep.02 March 31st
This year, due to the cold weather lingering until late March, there were few visits from birds to inspect the nest boxes. However, as the end of March approached and the snow melted rapidly, revealing the ground, the area around the nest boxes suddenly became noisy. On March 31st, for the first time, the male Japanese Tit entered the nest box! Soon after, the female followed!! Just like every year, when the female arrived, the male got nervous and quickly fled the nest box... 😆
On this day, the Varied Tit also entered the nest box for the first time with two individuals, and I feel like the occupants of the nest box are finally going to be decided. However, there was a slight skirmish between the Varied Tit and the Japanese Tit, and it's still unclear what will happen next...
