Finally, the house which I have been doing carpentry
is now completed!
I started to build this house when it was June, and
this hot summer was really tough.
Meanwhile, I was able to upload a lot of carpentry
videos on KZfaq
I am really grateful to the
owner who allowed me to
shoot.
This time, I made a video of the whole picture until
the house was built!

I just realized your lumber is a lot better than any of our lumber. It would be a pleasure to work with the lumber you’re using and I’m a big one for Cedar. Thank you for your program. I really enjoy it. I enjoy the joints that you cut.

This is not a house, this is an artwork. Excuse my ignorance, but this construction does not appear to be a Home as it would be in the North America, not heating or cooling units or ductwork, and not very large, it appears to be what we would call a Cabin, or a residence for vacations. Congratulations on completing this work. I send my hopes that you did not underbid the job.

Japanese woodworking seems to be the ultimate level to me. It's so clean, so perfect, so perfectly assembled and I can even smell from there the positive vibes from Japan houses.

I'm jealous of the knowledge that has been passed down in Japan. It makes me reflect that the USA is still very young, and has a lot to learn. I hope that one day we can value quality and the human touch just like this carpenter does, who is no doubt a product of the exceptional culture he is a part of.

This is a nice concept, but the economics are hard. A one-man carpentry business with the carpenter making a living wage: say US$60,000 will need to gross about $150k to take care of taxes, insurance, and overhead like admin and tools. The 5 months of excellent work therefore represent at least $70k of home cost just for carpenter labor. Few Americans can or will want to pay at this level. There is a fine carpenter's tradition in the US, too, based on the European system. Unfortunately it's tiny because only a very few can afford it.

Beautiful work! I watch all your videos to learn the secrets of long lasting, tight joinery. You always do the very best work possible. Sorry the woodstove will dry the material causing gaps. It's a problem for us with our timber frame structures. Too much heat causing the timbers to crack and shrink, very annoying.

I don't really care about the Japanese 'style' really, but I am absolutely obsessed with the Japanese way of woodworking. Specifically the joinery. There is something about building without nails/screws/metal that is beautiful and magical. It's requires a totally different approach to construction.

Pine is one of my favorites too. The grain is really versatile, and takes stain really well. There's a lot of wood species that are better with a natural finish instead of stain, but pine looks good with just about any finish in my opinion.

This is a very beautiful présentation, thanks you. Please help me to under stand why you dont use diagonale bracing in your wooden structures? Here in France thé méthode to make walls from a wooden lattice with clay is also used in thé style called colombage. This style was also déveloped to resist earth quackes. Thanks you for all your effort.
