In this video, I'll finish the beams that I show in my videos before by plane. It's really hard to finish curved or long beams. But by planing, the timbers will get glossy and be waterproof, so that they will be durable.

I love learning from your work. My grandfather was a cabinetmaker from Lithuania. He made beautiful hand built cabinets and furniture with intricate joinery. My Mother still has a hutch he built many years ago. I hope one day I inherit it, and his ability to cut such beautiful joints. Thank you for teaching me yet one more to add to my list. This is the way.

Just amazed at the craftsmanship. The work of planing seems very tiring. I don’t have any idea how Shoyan is, but however old he is he’s a hard worker. I never get tired of watching him work at his profession. Thank you for sharing the videos. Joe, Texas

Could you post a video on proper planing technique?? I absolutely love the surface my kanna gives, but I always seem to slightly cup my pieces. I've tried everything I can!

Domo Arigato Shoyan San ,for making these great videos , you are a superb craftsman, and obviously take a deep pride in your work.,The hand planing to get a shining finish looked like hard work, and I was fascinated by the paper thin shavings that came from your planes, the blades must be made from very fine steel, our planes in the UK never seem to get that sharp, or hold an edge for very long, and of course we work pushing the metal Bailey type plane, many thanks for the the video , stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.
